Plus, if we want, it allows us to make T-shirts that refer to Kurt Cobain's "upcoming suicide". Surreal.

Getting back on topic, UEQ (Urban Exploration Quebec) would really like to go. The only problem is the dates. Wouldnt it be preferrable to put it at a date where school is finished. I know some of you have jobs so it doesnt really matter date wise. But would it be possible to put it at date where all the people who are in school can go?

Well, it does encompass a weekend, so that should make it possible for people in school, to get there for at least one or two days of the convention.

Yeah. Don't forget it's slated for 3-6 June, 2004. Mark it on your calendars.

I guess so but it would still be cool to assist the whole thing. I dont get why putting it later that month like the 25-28 would hurt anybody. It would just allow more people to be there the whole time. Its only a little later.

I would definitely advocate school-skipping in this case. It will make the whole trip that much sweeter.

Of course, if you're young(er), then your parents might find a way to object to such shenanigans, depending on their level of control over you.

I'm taking a stab in the dark here, but I'm guessing most of the people attending will be out of high school, or possibly graduating seniors... so they've kinad got their own freedom there.

If they're not out of high school, they'll probably just make an excuse to come, 'cuz if memory serves, its illegal to take a minor across state borders without written consent from their parent or guardian.... so yeah, that kinda limits the number we'd have there.

Awesome. I love pulling off a Socrates (a.k.a. "corrupting the youth").

Urgh. reminds me of my school book for ancient greek . Almost every chapter about Socrates ends with Socrates "corrupting the youth". You don`t even have to translate it.

Logik: I hope you guys can come but changing the date isn't an option at this stage in the game, since some people have already started making arrangements to come from 3-6 June. It's just an unfortunate fact of life that no date would be ideal for everyone.

The location is still set for the Toronto area correct? There are so many replies to this post that I have trouble keeping up with all the details contained in the thread. If it is set for Toronto, a group of explorers from New Brunswick, myself included, plan on attending for sure!

Yes, the location is set for Toronto, June 3-6, 2004. Events and locations have not been set yet. I am sure that before the con, someone will have a website up with more details.

What luck that I live in downtown Toronto! I'll be there for sure. I also happen to have a few nice comfy couches...If anyone is really strapped for cash and are still travelling long and far to get to Toronto for OPX I think I can play host for a couple of days. I'm sure my roomies won't mind too much Just send me an email or 2 so I can establish that you are not a crazy psycho who will steal what few things of value we actually own or murder us in our sleep.
