Never a dull moment in Midworld.

| | | I've been to a few very reputably 'haunted' locations, and have never experienced anything that could only be explained with a supernatural...reasoning. Like Blackhawk tends to say, hellholes are real, and aside from taking pics and looking around, I'm generally too busy on an explore avoiding the many 'real and proveable' things that could spoil my day...rotting floors, wildlife, squatters, cops, mold, dogs with bees in their mouths and when they bark, bees come out, ect., ect. In one hospital, I went to its most haunted room, nothing. But down the hallway a floor down, I see a shadowy fluttering thing cross the bit of light from up ahead. Turn on my light...bats! I've never seen the Australian Outback (firsthand) but that doesn't disprove it's existence...I guess in my humble opinion, it's possible ghosts exist, and maybe they live (or un-live) to amuse or harass people in select creepy settings, but maybe not. I've had a few unexplainable, weird experiences in my life, so I can't fully discount it, but generally I believe what I see (I'm also originally from the ol' Show Me State), and don't tend to incorporate 'ghosthunting' into my explores. I must admit, I have a wild imagination, and I don't mind a scary story, but the supernatural is quite secondary to my urbex time.

| | | Posted by stealthwraith I have never encountered anything that wasn’t the result of a live being or a natural element. Birds and distant water drips are the fucking worst! I’ve also quietly kept my eye on others in a space and they never once knew I was the one crunching tile bits as I walked around (which frightened them greatly to my amusement).
| ^Truth^, splore quiet and hear(or see, smell) them before they know you are there... Bah-ha-ha-ha-ha stealthwraith, yet another terrifying demon spirit Lol, when I hear a noise I observe and investigate... I have terrified little ghost hunters out of the tunnels at Pennhurst by just slamming a door and a few loud footsteps from about 30 feet away in the darkness as they came down the stairs. They never saw me. It's hard to put a price on peace and quiet... I reckon that makes me a Ghost

| | | I have totally experienced weird, unexplained shit. I come from a very superstitious stock (appalachian mud squids). My initial reaction is to blame it on the supernatural. I do my best to search for logical explanations. Sometimes I find them, sometimes I don't. I'm a firm believer in the "echoes" of things. If something emotionally or physically insane enough occurs somewhere, I think that it can occasionally leave some sort of... residue? that can be picked up. Residue doesn't necessarily have to be "psychic" energy. Can be physical signs of what happened. A well written tombstone memorial. Whatever. But it triggers different states of emotions - leading to a "supernatural" experience. So, I believe, one day, we can probably ground a lot of this stuff in specific quantitative scientific fact or psychological theory - we just haven't gotten there yet. So until then, it'll seem, you know, supernatural. Growing up with the family I did, that does the work they do, I embrace it. Everyone's different ;D Side note- The most intense stuff I've experienced have been far out in the wilds of nature, not abandoned buildings. A lot of it can be chalked up to be just weird crap in nature I didn't understand at the moment... ... but then again, the elders believe in the monsters out there. So who knows.

| Well if you don't investigate it you are left with what you think it was. Ghosts are the least of my worries. I'm more concerned if those horrible ghoulish noises turn out to be say a large, aggressive, rabid raccoon that you just inadvertently cornered. One time I was looking into an opening at the top of a cinder blocked entrance doorway. There was about a 14x36 inch opening. I was standing on my toes with my hands on the top row of cinder blocks peering in. I heard many squeaks*. As my eyes adjusted from the bight sunlight to the darkness inside, I realized there were dozens of rats inside with a couple in the ceiling beams about 2 feet from my face. fuck. Haunted... I left. *rats rarely squeak in real life. They will use it for echolocation or to display fright or pleasure... lol, maybe aggression
