A 1985 map gives some more insight into the three Dumbarton bridges. As of 1985 the Dumbarton lift bridge has already been replaced by the new Dumbarton road bridge, completed in 1984. However, the lift towers remain in place, in the up position, and the clearance information is no longer shown. More surprising is the status of the Dumbarton rail bridge, which is shown as still being active, despite the fact that the last reported train crossing was in 1982.
