Description
A 1929 aerial view of the Cornwall Canal and the Ottawa and New York Railway bridge over the St. Lawrence.

Bridges in this location have not fared well historically. This one was abandoned in 1957, then removed entirely after the Seaway was built. The previous bridge fell down during construction in 1898. You can read about it here and here. Remnants of both bridges are still visible in the river today.
