PM'd to everyone on the event page who rsvp'd or maybe'd

If you’ve receiving this, you’re either on the ‘yes I’m coming list’ or the ‘I might make it list’ for the Tecopa CA Mine Exploration and Campout. The event is scheduled for 8am on Friday the 5th through 12 noon on Sunday the 7th. Many of us will be arriving late Thursday night or early Friday morning, so depending on your arrival time, you might just be the first there. A sign will be placed at the turn off for the campsite, so keep an eye out for the sign, especially if it is dark when you get there. If you are the first to arrive, please verify you are in the correct location by finding the large adit against the hill; you really can’t miss it. It looks like the picture above. The campsite can be found at (35°48'55"N, 116°5'2"W) (35.8153,-116.0838)

I will have Motorola EM1000R two way radios. Please tune your radio to channel 4, tone 17. You will be able to reach us in case you get lost getting to the campsite, or have any questions for us while outside of the mines.

Currently, the weather man is predicting a 20% chance of rain on Saturday, so please plan accordingly. Maps of the mines and their locations, will be distributed Friday morning between 8 and 830am, so please do try to make it before then. If you're schedule doesn't permit you being there by then, please let us know and a map will be left for you at the campsite. There will be a sign in, sign out sheet provided that we hope everyone will take advantage of (for safety) and that’s just about it. Let’s have some fun.

If you have any questions or need to get in touch, please don’t hesitate. However, if it's past 8pm on Thursday you might not be able to reach us, but based on the map on the event page, you should be able to get yourself there pretty easily.

Phone numbers are in the PM's

Saturday, Donny, is Shabbos, the Jewish day of rest. That means that I don't work, I don't get in a car, I don't fucking ride in a car, I don't pick up the phone, I don't turn on the oven, and I sure as shit don't fucking roll!

I have located a possible close source of fuel in Shoshone,CA. Highway 127 & Highway 178, Shoshone, CA‎. - 1(760) 852-4335‎ I would call ahead to verify. If this is a dud then the nearest would be Rebel Gas at 820 S Highway 160
Pahrump, NV 89048-4754 1(775) 727-0133. It would be fun to get some fireworks there though.

For most people, I think getting gas in Baker, when you exit the 15 should be good. The last time I went, I topped off there, and had more than enough to fill up in Barstow on the way back, but it is an option for those who feel or have the need. Bring cash, might not take credit cards there.

Just got home from bein gone for 4 days, here tomorrow then leaving thurs for this trip! CANT WAIT!!!

76Grinch, snordhol and I have chatted about a few things to "put on the fire" as well as a few that probably shouldnt go in the fire, so we should "have a blast" alrighty =)

Did someone offer money to have someone teach a verticals class? LOL. I just hope some people show up for it and we end up having a good time and everything works out safely.
I've been hitting up walmart and Sport Chalet doing some continuous stocking up for this trip. Snordhol agreed on the phone that we should be more than adequately equipped for anything we come across.

See you all out there!

Give a person a match and they'll be warm for a minute, but light them on fire and they'll be warm for the rest of their life. =)

Baker should be around $3.15 a gallon. Any other desert town is #4.00. Plus beer is 18 dollars for a six pack. Baker is great because all the chains are competing for LA-LV traffic. You'll still have higher prices than normal but nothing more than those within 40 miles.

I didnt even think about how close NV is... fireworks and high-cap mags ftw!
It's also nice to still have my Az ID card; as some places wont sell stuff to you with a Ca ID. =P

For those of you with pickup trucks (and I'm not sure why noone did this on this trip last time, when you guys got snowed on);
they make these cool things called "gas cans" that hold about 5 gal each. You put a few of them in the back of your truck, and then you dont have to go 80 miles out of the way just to buy gas before going to another site.

Cheers =D

COME!!!

let us know if there's anything we can do to help out. I'm bringing lots of extra food, bags, blankets, and equipment. If there's any way you can showup or carpool in with someone, lets get the details figured out!!
