Glad you made it out okay! I'm in the middle of nowhere, and have the benefit of easily identifying recent tire tracks or footprints, etc. I've only explored alone once though. You can never tell what or who you'll come across, scary. We once came across an active grow op,which appeared from the front to be a boarded up house along the highway. We left immediately, though it's something I always watch out for now.

I guess it can't be said that "they are more scared of you, than you are of them" when referring to angry people engaging in clandestine activities.

At left with minimal contact. Sometimes confrontation can deal unforeseen benefits. I don't think that would have been the case here.

Agreed, which is why I didn't think they sounded like homeless people.

Worst nightmare for sure! Even worse than the time I stepped on a homeless guy in the dark. Just scared the hell out of the both of us but he wasn't trying to kill me. Lucky you could run like hell. Don't stop exploring!

Raticus you may be foolin these noobs but I have it on good authority that you have explored "alone" more than a time or three...

So kiddies do what Raticus says not what Raticus does Ok?

I explore alone all the time. I don't honestly care much for the whole group atmosphere. I've run into crackheads and petty criminals, but never had anybody yell "F*CKING GET HIM!". Your story definitely gave me a chill. Sounds like you could have gotten seriously killed. I don't normally advocate carrying weapons while exploring, but if drug labs are common in your area maybe you should consider it - although I doubt whipping out a gun on these fellas would have ended well for anybody.

Well, yeah I have, 3 times I think. I just don't as much as I used to. For one thing, I'm too damn old to run.

Toss me the full bottles and I will empty them so you guys can throw them at each other. Musket_Boy can toss the first, I know he never explores alone - pansy ass.

Wow. You are so lucky. I'm always super careful because meth is so big here, you never know where it could be. And those kinds of people will do anything to keep their business secret.

Never go alone! I never do.

Glad you didn't have to fight your way out of there......I've seen your photo in other threads, Tiny, you ain't.

But multiple crackheads/meth chefs with weapons........not good odds. Even for a big guy.

You can see a million miles tonite, but you can't get very far.

yeah, I know you shouldn't UE alone, but I'm a real adrenaline and solitude junkie, sorta like those guys who solo climb at yosemite on the big walls, or circumnavigate alaska alone, or sail solo around the world. I know its dangerous, but I cant help myself.
