well the green line idea sounds decent i think ill try that. I know there used to be an entrance from the southbound station, but its now behind a vending machine. another one is an exit only, and im aware theres a third one which is monitored by cameras i think. thats all the info i could find. im sorry if i come off as a douchebag. I just dont live in the area, and was hoping maybe some of you could give me sum advice. but if not thats ok too i guess... thanks for all the help anyway.

Hey, if it makes any difference, I don't think you come off as a douchebag. Just young and inexperienced. So... be careful. And take everything you read here with caution. Active subways are probably NOT the best sort of locations for your first exploration. I've been doing this for years and they scare the HELL out of me. Basically, I'd say stay out of off-limits areas of the subway unless you're with someone who's done it before and knows what they're doing.

You seem like a nice kid, and I'd hate to hear that you've been smeared down the side of a tunnel by a train just because a bunch of people on the internet were feeling snarky.

+1

Seriously.

They are some of the most dangerous locations ever attempted. If you aren't a really experienced active site explorer, don't do this.

EDIT: (just noticed from his profile that he just turned 15...this thread makes me extremely nervous...)

In NYC I met a guy who was 16, who'd been tearing up the subway for years. He learned from somebody older than himself, so he wasn't running into the whole thing blindly. Age isn't necessarily a huge boundary and at 15 if he'll be less hardly punished if caught.

Still, doesn't seem like the best idea but then of the things we do... nothing does

im sixteen btw. And my philosophy is that if i intend to explore subways, i might as well do it now. I was hoping i could get some info so i'd be better prepaered, but, the first people who went down there didn't have info or guides either, so ill do myself

This is very true. I'm just scared this guy doesn't realize just how risky active subways are, both in terms of getting killed or getting locked up. And there is no reason to start out with active subways; there are tons of lower risk active sites that can be used to practice and build up to subways after a few years of experience. 3mpo, how much experience do you have with UE?

you're either a moron or you've got some balls. I suspect both.

Have you ever been to this subway? Do you know any information about this place, other than what you've read online? Do you know ANYTHING about moving through active subways? If not you've got a good chance of either becoming a splatter on the front of a train, fried on the 3rd rail, or spending your spring break locked up as a terrorist suspect. Without the wisdom of where you are or what you're doing, you've got no respect for quite how dangerous a place a subway is. There's a reason we're telling you not to do it, and there's a reason most of us have never stepped off the platform of an active subway. It's a highly dangerous place, and it's not meant for people to be there while active. You're essentially climbing into a piece of machinery, and if you don't know how it works, you're likely to get hurt or worse.

I at least hope that you write out a goodbye note for your parents, so that they at least know why their stupid-ass son is spread out over 200 feet of track in boston. The first subway explorers were either suicidal, or more likely knew people who worked for the subway companies.

Seriously, don't go without someone experienced in such things.

Have you even ridden the subway in Boston? It's a serious question. When I first played on the tracks here I was in 9th grade. Difference is I took the train every day and was under the delusion that I knew everything about the T, I would never have done it if I wasn't so familiar with the lines and the frequency of the cars. If you are coming from out of state to break into a system you don't know anything about and you have no experience with similar exploits you are asking for lots of trouble, pain, or both.

grit your teeth in the face of fear. self repression is the true sign of a coward, toss your inhibitions to the wind.

I think what they're trying to tell you is to do your own homework first, perhaps try getting into another active site first before trying this one to make sure you fully understand what you're doing and what you're getting into; these things aren't as easy as just coming in here and asking for someone, then going down there. Study the routes and the timetables, look for blueprints, and make sure you know exactly what you're getting into before you do this, because it's VERY dangerous and there's a possibility you'll get hit by a train or something if you aren't careful.

I'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong.

-Do you know where these abandoned stations are?
-Do you know how to get to them?
-Do you know how far they are from the nearest station?
-Do you know if there's room to stand between the trains and the wall?
-Do you know how often the trains come?
-Do you know how fast the trains move?
-Do you know if there's any on-duty police?
-Do you know if there are any security guards?
-Do you know if there's any cameras?
-Do you know if there's any attendants?
-Do you know if there will be other people in the station?
-Do you know what/how other people react?
-Do you know what to do if someone calls the police?
-Do you know if there are other entrances/escape routes from the station?
-Do you know what will happen if they call in a homeless on the tracks?
-Do you know what will happen if they call in a tagger on the tracks?
-Do you know what will happen if it's called in a suicidal train jumper?
-Do you know what will happen if they call in a terrorist threat?
-Do you know how this will delay the subway system if you are called in?
-Do you know what this will do to the Boston subway UE community if you're caught?

Can you answer any of these questions for me?

while its heartwarming to hear your concern for my life, i guess i should explain a couple things: i have done a bit of UE before. I grew up in Katowice, which I doubt anyone is familiar with. This is a big, industrial city in poland. Our maind products are coal, and steel. And where does coal come from? mines, hundreds of miles of tunnels, most of which did nopt pass government safety regulations. I know what putting your life on the line is. I also did quite a bit of unassisted climbing back in poland. Couple hundred feet in he air without a harness is not something one survives without being careful. I know the dangers of subways. Ive lost a cousin, nd a half-cousin, one in a tube surfing accident, and one who got as you call it "fried" by the third rail. I know what i'm getting into. So before you tell me i'm going to die, know this: that won't detter me. Life on the couch is worthless. As little fun fact most moles have been found to have a deficiency in impulse control, which leads to alcohol, drug, and adrenaline addictions. Doing this stuff is in my blood.
And will skith, yes, i can awnser many of those questions, though by no means all of them. (Roughly 50%)

I've been to Katowice actually.

Education is a fine asset, and obviously learn as much as you possibly can, but nothing compares to being there and doing it. By the sound of it you're going to see all this for yourself.
