they might, but they already reviewed it once and didn't bother. Its relatively rare and they did not see a need to ban it.

and I have to UE "non sober" to be safe. I have to take my 60mg of amphetamine salts for my ADHD, otherwise I'm probably more at risk of doing something stupid.

Lines can be blurred, cant they?

MDPV is a designer drug correct? A recreational drug that even if a cop found on you while exploring he/she couldn't do anything about.

exactly, it does not appear in statute of Canadian law/CDSA, and IMHO, its better then the two major illegal stimulants.

But yeah, you cant be charged for having it. It you can be charged if you market it as an illegal drug. (mix it with insolitol and call it cocaine) or if you market it with claimed therapeutic use, that would be violating the laws regarding approved medications, ect.

purepillz went though it with the piperazine designer drugs(bzp, tfmpp, mcpp, pfpp), and won!

www.purepillz.ca I think they have blurb about it somewhere on their website.

Health Canada's enforcement action never lead to anything, they lost. Freedom for people to choose what they put into themselves prevailed this time.

I can't believe that this has even been raised as a topic.. Not only would going on missions under the influence of intoxicating subjects be highly dangerous it is well known that urban ex already has enough credibility problems with the mainstream media as it is..the last thing we need is a post like this getting out there and helping them to create even more spin...

Your choice to use is exactly that your choice.. but if you want to talk drugs perhaps you should consider visiting a site dedicated to such a topic and not an urban ex site that is used by dedicated explorers who are trying to increase the reputation of this pursuit, not take away from it.

I don't smoke but I do drink. However, when I go exploring, I prefer to keep my head clear and prefer that my partners keep their heads clear as well. Less chance of an accident that can either hurt me or my partners that way.

However, after the trip is over, I don't mind a beer or two to celebrate. Just play safe.

My two cents worth.

Gone for a while. Be back when I'm back.

First off, screw mainstream media because it's all BS anyways. Most of the time they seriously exaggerate on topics. They will say what they want because they have the power to do so. What mainstream media really needs to do is learn the difference between urban explorers and taggers, graffiti artists, vandals, etc.
Us urban explorers have this shadow casted over us, people make us out to be the bad guys when we really only want to snap pictures and learn history of buildings left to rot away. We're the only ones that care about these places after everyone else has left them.

Secondly, drugs are everywhere. The majority of people that use drugs not only here in Canada, but basically everywhere in the world is absolutely mind blowing. Sure we talk about doing drugs/drinking while exploring is dangerous, and yes most of us have the common sense not to do it, there's still a ton of people that do. Just because we say it's bad and not the best of ideas doesn't mean people are going to listen. I for one believe this is a huge topic that needs to be discussed because it not only affects you and i, but every single other explorer on this website.

I still want to see a well done study (double blind, placebo control, large test population) showing that 30mg DL-amphetamine decreases anyones ability to do anything except sleep.

Couldn't agree more with your statement that 'drugs are everywere'....It dosen't matter if it is a group of urban explorers or a group of badmiton enthusiasts you will always find drug users amongst the crowd.. But what on earth does this has to do with a site whose sole purpose is too discuss urban ex?

Despite the common claim of "I can do just fine or better while drunk/high" it just isn't reality. Tests have shown that a person drinking and within the legal limit has around a 12% reduction in reaction speed. Those under the influence of pot can experience around a 21% reduction in reaction speed. Thats not taking into account judgement ability. Tests done with bus drivers to navigate a narrow bridge for example, showed that even around the legal limit, they did not accurately judge the width or distance correctly when approaching the bridge.

All I'm saying is this - Let's say you were exploring the drain down in west van to the sweet beats beethoven's 4th symphany. And in your backpack, you have a bong, a camelpak filled with whiskey, a custom etched golf club, a portable tank of nitrus oxide and the remaining seventeen hits of acid which you decided to save for later.

And in this distance, at the end of the tunnel, you see a light. Footsteps. Could that be the dreaded RCMP, who had wisened up to your presense, and was heading to investigate? You look back, by no act of your own free will, into the light, and it too stops fluttering and stares right back at you. And you feel a sick sense of nausia bursting from your spleen to your skull. You are inclined to vomit, and you see, in the afterglow of the light, living creatures, serpents, tigers, angels and demons not made of matter or any substance of this earth, morphing and dancing as they rush towards you. And you realize, suddenly, that that light was no man nor train, but the angellic light at the end of the tunnel, and the beast approaching, whatever it was, had summoned with all the armies of heaven and hell, and it was bent on destoying one thing - YOU.

Questions race through your head. Was this the moment your priest had warned you about, that awful day when you are doomed to sit before all of god's beautiful creatures to be judged? You blink. You panic. You beg. You pray - and you close your eyes. And suddenly you're home, as a 6 year old, as a child, picking tulips from a field. The sun carrasses your skin. Your father is in the distance. You run to him. And he wraps his arms around you and says "My son, all is not as it seems".

And then you open your eyes. You're back in your body, lying prone on the damp concrete, inahiling the sweet sent of the earth. And your buddy, B, taps you on the shoulder, lays down his maglite, and asks

"You're alright, dude?"

And in awe you stare deeply into his eyes and say

"Boy, it's good to be alive"

I'm just saying that wether people like it or not drugs are a part of the society we live in....probably always will be for that matter. People do everything on drugs, drive around, shop for groceries, work their 9-5 jobs and in this case explore. I do understand and completely agree your point about making the hobby in itself look bad, but this is the reality.

As for the media thing yeah my bad. One of my biggest pet peeves is so-called media changing stories around instead of what actually occurred. I swear they try to manipulate people on a regular basis. I'm sure you understand what i mean. Anyways, no more fodder! (I do like that word though)

Hi im the person who basically got this thread started by telling off that *insert name of feminine hygiene product* in the other thread that he has no right to say people who do drugs/drink while exploring should be banned from this website.

Drinking/Smoking well exploring is fun for me and my splorin' friends. We know it makes it more dangerous. We know its more to hide from the cops/security. But honestly we dont care. Im almost 30 years old so ive gotten past my fears of police catching me. Plus hiding/sneaking/running away from police is one of the best rushes you can get. If i get caught(which i never have been yet very surprising, had a couple REAL close calls though) then big whoop. Ill pay my $125 ticket(s) and be back doing it again the next time I feel like it.

You can take pictures and leave only footprints. I take nothing and leave emptys. I suspect that most of you "anti-drinking crowd" are from the artsy fartsy side of ue'n (ie: photographer kids). Youve always got that little chip on your shoulders dont cha? I explore for the pure buzz of the whole experience. Running from a GO train security guard, through thorn bushes, down a hill, and over a fence, and getting away is a much better story to tell when it includes I had a 40 of Old E in my hand the whole time I was doing it.

My name is StIzzy and i am an urban explorer. Probably been doing it longer then most of you.
Deal with it.

and to all my peeps posting those pictures of yourselves drinking a beer in crazy spots, I salute you. Thats a pic worth taking in any light level.
