thats the effects I get. So I'm quite happy with it. But you choose what you put into your body, and I choose what goes into mine. no hard feelings. I dont know why you ragging on me on me for consuming a legal substance. Enjoy your choice, and I'll enjoy mine.

Pot and UE? I don't. I don't do the shit anyway, but... people smoke pot and drive every damn day. I know cab drivers that do it on a daily basis during shift and their passengers certainly can't say they knew the cabbie was stoned. In terms of the "stupid factor", drinkers get stupid, while stoners get hungry but can carry a conversation. This isn't a hard and fast rule, there are always exceptions but the vast majority of pot smokers I know aren't so impaired as to affect their normal sense of judgement.
The bottom line for me is... I prefer to be sober exploring... I think it's a damn good idea for us all to be sober and have our wits about us when we're in a potentially dangerous or life threatening situation.
In the end, what really pisses me off about this whole situation is that because of the events of the last week there WILL be a period of time where people will refuse to consider explorers as anything more than a glorified vandal. We will not be even considered for being a level above the asshat taggers or the dickheads with baseball bats. If there had been no intoxication in the story it would not have gotten as much attention. It would have been "Woman falls from 4 storeys".
We can all go home after a good day of exploring and get as fucked up as we want, is it really necessary to do it while exploring???
And as for tachycardia as a side effect... eeewwww... no thanks, tachy isn't fun whether it's randomly occurring or chemically induced, been there done that... what a terrible side effect...

The thing is, impaired judgement doesn't need to be at an extreme to have an impact. It only takes a small mistake in judgement when in a risky situation, to be the difference. Can I make that jump over? Of course I can ! It is very often the little changes, not the "omg I'm so wasted" times, thats is the problem. Someone under the influence enough to reduce their reaction and judgement a bit, but not messed up enough that it is obvious to everyone.

Hmmmm...that is quite an interesting RC. I expect they will ban it within the next few years, if not sooner.

Said friend continued to consume half the bottle by himself, I had to throw away the rest as he was very drunk by this stage. He was falling over, bumping into us and putting our group in tough situations where we had to rescue him a number of times from falling off stacked containers.
It was a terrible experience and something I'm surprised he came out of alive. Not only did his bad attitude ruin everyone else's experience, our group's safety was compromised by his absence of judgement.

I'm way too unpredictable when drunk so I'd probably wander off, get lost, get stuck somewhere, or god knows what. I tend to also be the drunk that is overly happy and loves everyone so if the cops showed up I'd be like, "Hey guys! Look what I found!!"
So yeah, bad idea for me

I myself, do not choose to smoke pot or drink before UE'ing, ALTHOUGH I do smoke pot, and I do occasionally drink, I find that despite the fact then when I "smoke" there is no change in my abilities to do things, or my awareness of surroundings, I will not take the risk of the "what if". I do not know if I would UE with someone who has been drinking more then a beer or two, but I will not have a problem exploring with someone who has been "Smoking"
In regards to the comments made about people who choose to smoke or drink while UE'ing that shouldnt be representing UER, in my opinion, it shouldnt matter what the people choose to do with their own bodies, i do not feel that it reflects on the UER in itself if a few lone people choose to use substances while 'sploring

So, drunk UEing for me isn't very likely even if I thought it was a good idea.
As for weed, I've smoked a few times in my life and have no problem with those who do, but I've never owned any stuff. So again, non-issue.
As for drinking on site... maybe a nice hefeweizen or two with in a place I've been before and that has relatively low risk.

they might, but they already reviewed it once and didn't bother. Its relatively rare and they did not see a need to ban it.
and I have to UE "non sober" to be safe. I have to take my 60mg of amphetamine salts for my ADHD, otherwise I'm probably more at risk of doing something stupid.
