Hey everyone, I'm Alex. I live in central NJ and have been to many sites around here. I'm a videographer, editor, motion graphics artist, and I've recently been learning more about 3d modeling and animation. I use a Sony pd170 for video. I'm also into photography and use a Nikon D3 (which is actually my mothers, but she lends it to me sometimes when I'm out exploring). I love abandoned hospitals and prisons and am excited by the fear of what could be there. I'm happy I found this place, I'm sure that I'll learn plenty and maybe I can help some people out too.

Hi! =)

I'm a student at ETSU in Northeast TN. I'm pretty new to UE and obviously new to the site, but I hope to gain some more experience soon. I've only been on one trip to explore an abandoned local factory, but it was fantastic! I managed to get some decent pictures, but most were blurry. Definitely going back, this time armed with a tripod and a respirator. Two obviously essential items that only a n00b would forget, ha! Anyway... photography is my main reason for wanting to explore. I love urban decay and bizarre locations. I'd like to meet some people in my area and also just become more involved with the UE community. I do travel to Oregon at least once a year, so it'd be great to have contacts out West as well. Also I hope to learn a lot from this site and hopefully - when I get more experience - be able to contribute to the wealth of knowledge on here.

I'm another Tennessee explorer, a student at Tennessee Tech university in Cookeville (about an hour east of Nashville) and have been exploring stuff for pretty much my entire life. I love railroad, military and power generating sites the most. My first true UE was at the abandoned veterans hospital in Poteau or Talihina OK about five years ago, and I've explored all over 'Tech's campus. Currently looking for a good way into what I believe are the steam tunnels.

Nice to see you HijackedMind, and any other Johnson City folks - my sister goes to ETSU there.

Hello, my name is Ben and I'm pretty new to UE. I've done a little bit of exploring in Phoenix (where I'm from) and Boston (where I live most of the year). A friend of mine showed me a bunch of places in the Boston area that I'd love to check out, unfortunately I don't know too many people that get excited about the idea of checking out abandoned buildings so I'm hoping to meet some people in MA to possibly meet up with.

Happy 4th!

Hello Ben,
Welcome to UER! I'm sure you will find some people here that get excited about the idea of checking out abandoned buildings (and MAYBE taking pictures)!

You may want to poke around over in this forum:

Hey Everyone,

I'm new here, so I figure I should introduce myself.. I'm from Southwest NH, originally from Northern VT. I've always loved exploring buildings and other abandoned areas. I've been exploring "mild" places for about 16 years now, and am getting more adventurous as the days go on, only limited by my family commitments and other hobbies. Old ski areas, small natural caves, ancient ruins, old mills, and old cellar holes are what I like.. although I would love to find some drains to explore at some point.

I'll have some pics up of some laces up in my journal soon, as soon as I can access it properly. (not sure why I can create one, but not see/edit it yet...?)

Hey all those other people! My Name is *undisclosed* and all that but I live in Calgary Alberta and I'm wondering if anyone else still going UEing in Calgary. All the websites I've run into are shutdown these days. If anyone else is in Calgary and would like to go UEing then please drop me a message. I've gone Roofing many times but haven't gone inside much as it's kind of hard to find an abandoned building in Calgary. I'll toss up some photos of my escapades soon on my journal of the places that I have been with my trusty but terrible cellphone camera.

Hi everyone!
I finally made it through my first week of not being to post, mostly by ogling the LDB. Anyways, you can call me Cherry, I'm 20 and from BC, Canada. I've always loved exploring around abandoned places, but I never knew that UE existed until I stumbled upon it online. Anyways, I'm glad to be here, and here's hoping I become a productive and active member.

Hello, all!
I've just graduated from college, and I'm now living in the fine city of Ypsilanti. There are some great places to UrbEx in Ypsi, a couple in Ann Arbor, and many in Detroit. My first UE adventure was at an abandoned factory in Salem Township. There are several urban legends that go along with that one and they were the reason that my friends and I decided to go. I didn't even know what UrbEx was when I was climbing around in the old factory on that hot summer day!

I love my city and I love exploring buildings that previous generations have left for us. Whether it's an abandoned train station or a newly renovated skyscraper, I love looking at urban architecture.

I'm hoping to get a full account soon so I can post some of my pictures in the UE Database! I've got pics from the Ypsilanti Water Street factory and Michigan Central Station!

First off, welcome to the forums!

If you'd like to introduce yourself to the forum before you begin posting, please feel free to do so in this thread. This is not required, of course, because the best way to introduce yourself is always by making some contributions to the forum. If you'd like to introduce yourself to a specific region, you may do so, but any introductions posted in other sections will be moved here.

Please reply to introductions only if you have something more to contribute, than "Welcome to the forums!"

Hello all I'm 30yrs old from upstate NY about 1 1/2 hrs from NYC Been interested in places that I'm not supposed to be since I was real young. I recently started to get into photography. I want to get into a few of the abandoned stations and some tunnels for pics. I am a Union Electrician and work in Westchester so meeting up with ppl who are interested is not a problem. If you have any advice or if someone is willing to help me out it would be appreciated

Greetings all. I'm in Ottawa, Ont. and have been poking my nose where it doesn't belong for as long as I can remember. Aside from the usual suspects here in town, I haven't really gone out of my way to explore abandoned places. However, due to my job, I get to explore many varied occupied places that the normal public doesn't get to see. Factories, sewage treatment plants, power generating stations, warehouses, the Prime Minister's house and cottage. Obviously taking pictures of these locations presents additional challenges, but who knows what might pop up.
