Hi, I'm new to this forum (obviously), and still pretty new to urban exploration. I'm from New Mexico, but I've been living in New Hampshire for the past few months, and I'll be here 'til May. I came to this site and tried to register, just to find that I already had registered a while ago and forgot about it. My apologies for that. I can't wait to start exploring this corner of the country, hopefully meet a few others.

I've technically been a member for about half a year, and been lurking around even longer... But hi everybody. I figure I'll actually try being active here now that I've started getting pretty serious about skulking around abandoned buildings.

hi! my name is lia. i've been lurking here for years. i created an account about six months ago, but just continued to lurk. i've only recently obtained a nice camera (not professional or anything, just better than a camera phone), and feel that i can possibly start contributing. as a child, my mother used to take me for rides out into the country and we used to explore all types of old, decrepit farm buildings. it was great fun and it's stuck with me since.

Hello my name is Liam Eibach. I think this site is great and everyone's photography is fantastic. I have read through many of the threads and I feel completely at home here.

Hello all, my names shane. I'm from the lancaster,PA area, and just recently got into urban exploration, and have only been to a couple places, the most recent being fricks lock, PA. I have been reading a lot on different places around my area, and know a good deal, but I would love to learn and experience, a lot more. That being said, am looking for a group(s) to travel with and go to different sites. Wether you want to check some things out, or just say "hi" feel free to message me

Hey there, allow me to introduce myself, I'm Macs.

I've been into UEX for a couple of years now and have been a photographer for longer.

Unfortunately, I'm in the Ottawa area and there is a dearth of abandoned industrial buildings and factories around here. There are a number of old houses and barns around, but they don't have the same appeal. For that reason, I've found myself making trips into the US Rust belt for good UEX adventures and photo opportunities, Mostly in Upper NY State and Pennsylvania.

The best building's I've explored this year are an abandoned train station, a Steel Blast Furnace and a abandoned Sanatorium.

If you ask me a tripod is an absolute must for UEX. Every time I don't have it with me, I'm cursing about it. Its the best way of getting shots without blur. With the right exposure settings you can photograph any room, even those very low light places have enough light for photos, with the right lenses and settings.

I look forward to exploring more of this site and other sites.

Macs

Howdy howdy, new here to UER, but not new to the reason the site exists.
I live here in the Deep South, southern Mississippi, I know a few spots
Here but most of my knowledge is of Arizona, mostly of Tucson of which
I’m 4th generation of my family born there so I know the best places,
Like the old vast coolie tunnel system under the old part of town and
The abandoned nuke vaults just outside of Tucson and lots more, I even
Know the location of 6 ghost towns in the mountains that you need a
Donkey or a dirt bike to get to use the old switch back trails.

I hope to add to this site and be a helpful resource.

I’m also crazy so that helps.

Hello!

I joined this site a few months back, forgot about my account, then remembered it the other day when I happened across the site again.

I've not been an explorer for very long, but already have a strong passion for it. My first was checking out what little remains of "Hell House" outside of Ellicott City (everyone within 500 miles has heard of this place) with a friend back in June '09, and for a time that was all I focused on. I began to branch out and recon other places, and so have a few other spots under my belt. I'm always up for new locations, namely old, decaying buildings.

I'm not much of a photographer, have a shitty camera and only bought a tripod a couple months ago, but I like taking pictures anyway. I figure I'll get better as I go along.

I'm happy to see a site like this devoted to this interest that I and many others have.

Hey all!
I'm from Delaware, that small state that kind of hangs off the south of Pennsylvania. Look forward to meeting local adventurers and contributing where I can to the content of the site.

Hello!
I've been shooting for awhile, but only getting into urbex'g last couple years.
Recently got back from New Orleans after hitting Six Flags, wasteland power plant, Dixie Beer and some adult school with severe water damage.

Have visited Detroit, Buffalo/Lockport, Salton Sea, and a bunch of places around the Bay Area.

Looking forward to sharing and participating in local events.

Hey.

I'm The RobotRogue, from Vancouver, BC.

Big into street photography, and abandoned sites/abandoned things photography.

Would love to find more old sites to take photos of in the GVRD, but that's why I'm here I guess.

Hey all,

I've had a fascination with abandoned and restricted places for years and after becoming enamoured with dsankt's work, I was inspired to explore some of these forbidden playgrounds.

I'd also love to get my photography skills up to scratch to capture some of these places and do justice to their beauty.

I live on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia and though I'm very new to this, I've found a number of great places in my area and around Brisbane already. Mainly abandoned buildings, though I'm very keen to do some draining as well.

I'd love to get in touch with someone around here and do some exploring together as so far, most of my endeavours have been tackled alone.

Hit me up if you're keen :)

Looking forward to learning more about this amazing activity and the culture that goes along with it, as well as contributing to the site.

Peace.

Hello all. I've not done any actual exploring but would love to. I had signed up for this site quite a long time ago but forgot about my account. I'm starting to get more into photography again which is piquing my interest in urban exploration. Living in Knoxville, TN I've seen a few sites I'd like to check out but haven't been sure how to go about it... so I guess that's part of why I'm here. I hope to become a bit more active of a member on these forums.

Hey all,

Like many people posting in this thread, I've been a member for a long time but haven't really contributed much. Part of the reason is that the last four years I was doing school in London Ontario, which is completely devoid of anything to explore. But now I'm back in Toronto and climbing anything that looks remotely interesting any time I get a chance...

I also want to try exploring some drains. I don't know much about it, but judging from some of the pictures on this site (like the ones above), it looks pretty cool.

And I'm also into trainhopping. I did a short ride from Toronto to North Bay a few years ago, and have always dreamed of going all the way across Canada to the pacific. I think I will actually do it this summer, so anyone from Toronto looking for trainhopping company, PM me!

That's pretty much it.
Cheers and happy holidays!

Hey, name's Joe. I live near the Chicago area, in a town called Roselle. I'm only 16 and I just recently stumbled on UrbEx. I brought it up to one of my friends and we both think it would be an awesome hobby to get into.

I'm not looking to get into the more hardcore side of UrbEx lol. (I read some equipment lists that require respirators and splunking tools, maybe not now but later in life). I just want to do it for the exploration, I'm sure that in time I'll save money for a camera to bring with on these trips.

The three days I've waited to use this site felt like ages! I'm really just looking for some guidance or mentoring if anyone's willing to help out.

I have been exploring pretty much on and off for as long as I can remember. Right now I am mostly into the photography aspect of everything. So what do I say when people ask "why am I into this?" I'm in it for the history, the architecture and yeah, somewhere a long the line the thrill creeps in. Granted it's gotten harder since my son was born, the house was purchased and the car blew up (yup, it did.) Finding a sitter at three AM so my husband and I, and the rest of our motley crew can crawl around in an abandoned building is a little awkward. Especially since most of us now have kids. And forget running! In my younger wilder days there was an insane amount of running involved. But I loved it. I still do.
So who am I? I am Torchwood and I am (still) an Urban Explorer.

Because I can!
