Yeah me too....there are worse cartoons on this site I can think of...and definitely worse statements and actions some members partake in. Funny how a site that involves trespassing is poo-pooing something like this. One freedom over the other? Huh?

Just a reminder. This has to do with far more than just that one image. It's based on how Av handles issues and how he chooses to be hypocritical (or just clueless) about some issues. The mods have debated back and forth about the handling of that image as well as a multitude of other things in a private admin board. The belle image was, as said earlier, the straw that broke the camel's back. Without trying to explain it all here, just let it suffice to say that Av is either very set in his ways (which many mods had/have strong disagreements with) or very dense for not seeing and actively misinterpreting the points other mods attempted to demonstrate and explain to him. These resignations come on the grounds of the accumulated problems over time and no sign of change in the future. Av wants to do it his way and make up the rules as he goes, saving the ability to completely and utterly veto even a 100% agreement of the moderators that he disagrees with. If he wants it that way, he is welcome to have it that way; it is his site after all. I just see no need for moderators if he ignores their opinions and recommendations in the end.

Well put. You are far better with words than I could ever be.

I am kinda new to UER. Without knowing all the bullshit back story, this is how I view this whole fiasco

I first came on in late november and saw that the general attitude of the forum had more to do with "being Level 3" or not being a "noob" that documenting and exploring these wonderful places. I did not even sign in again untill January because I was not impressed by UER. I have met allot of cool people since I have been frequenting this site. But I still feel that UER has little or nothing to dop with UE and more to do with impressing people that you have never met.

I have seen people like Jester abuse their power as a moderator because they just don't like somebody. I have also seen how even grown people revert to the high school mentality over something a pointless as an avatar on their profile. Don't you people have REAL concerns? does it really matter what picture somebody chooses? is seeing princess Belle tied up with watery eyes really going to affect you day in any substantial way?.

My hat off to the mods who have resigned, that is the best way to broadcast your views and release yourselves from something that you no longer want to be a part of.

In closing, I offer these words of advice:
Urban exploring(or whatever you choose to call it) is not controlled by UER, only this site is. The powers that be have become delusional and I think they actually believe that if you are not in UER, you are not an explorer. I have been exploring many places for many years without the "help" of this forum, so there is no reason that we need to place so much dependency in UER.

Exploring is like tattoos... They stopped being cool in 2005

This has been a long time coming. I've stayed through a lot of bad here, and there's some things that need to be said. I put a hell of a lot of effort into moderating here, under the belif that what I did was at the very least respected by Av. I've finally been shown that it was not the case. It's sad to drop something I've put a lot of caring into, but there's no choice now.

I deliberatly put myself in front of as much negativity here as was possible, to draw all the hate I could away from Av, for the good of the forum community. He doesn't take it well, and lashes out, so I took as many of the shots to keep him safer from it as it were. I took more abuse than about all the mods combined, and Av would tell me I was too sensitive if I complained. But if he got even slightly insulted, it was wrath of god. Well, it's his site, and his rules, and now it can be him taking every attack straight on. I won't be taking any more bullets for him.

The issue here was not the picture, the picture was the catalyst only. With one face Av would tell us mods how valued we were, but that only lasted as long as we agreed with him fully. If we disagreed, the other face would ignore us no matter how rational and logical our argument to him. His forum, he's the dictator for life and he'll do as he pleases. But he'd prefer if the mods thought they actually had a say, when in reality he wanted glorified cheerleaders.

Jester's not taking this shit anymore.

You can take this job, and shove it.

Wow. This sucks, but I can't say it came completely out of left-field. Especially in the past few weeks, it seems like all the threads are "ethics" bullshit, and I've only been posting here to ditz around. I've met everyone here I like, and can contact them through im/email. I like some of the private boards (Drainers, etc.) but I doubt I'll be on much besides that.

Everyone I know who has met Avatar-X in real life liked him, and I respect him for having set up this website. However, online at least, he's been really acting like a dick. Erratic behavior in his moderating, really stupid arguments in chat, etc.

So, yeah. This is my form of resignation This site's really gone to shit lately.

You can't fall off a mountain.

From what I'm reading, and hearing in chat, I doubt this one picture was the crux of the whole problem. I also *seriously* doubt the recent ethics threads have dick to do with it.

It certainly seems like there's been a lot of rumbling in the background for some time about problems here, though to the untrained eye of the new guy, it was kept pretty much under wraps, from my perspective. Anyway, it's too bad, because I certainly do enjoy the site and the civil (when they are civil) debates and discussions to be found here.

In any event, I wish those of you who are leaving the best of luck. Hope we get to still see you around.

Actually, as far as I know, they have nothing to do with this. They certainly weren't on my radar.

I havent been here long, but ive enjoyed it. I wont be leaving just yet. I've met alot of cool people, and experienced alot of fun stuff. UER has been a tool for me, a place to have information, to organise, and to share ideas. I recognise that UER is not UE. UER is a tool, that without the "community", will not work. Maybe it just needs new mods and fresh views. I think It definitely needs to be decentralized, and the power distributed among many. I hope that 5 mods leaving at once will help Av to see that something is wrong, and that EVERYONE, should work to find a solution. No solution will make everyone happy, but those that stay should work together to fix the problems.

No, I'm not done either. There's more.

I also had the pleasure of Av accusing me on more than one occasion of going behind his back and doing things here. He once accused me of distributing admin forum info to others on the forum. No proof, except his own childish insecurity about it. I wasn't the person who did it either, nor did I know who did until the truth came out. No apology until I said I was waiting for one.

But for those of you who thought I kissed Av's ass, well, it's pretty funny, because no mod ever argued against Av and his pettiness more than I did to try to protect the forum overall.

But a dictatorship is a dictatorship and it only needs one point of view, and that's Av's.

I no longer wish my site to be affiliated in the manner it was with UER, and will no longer link to a mirror of the forum. I can't abide by the hypocrisy he chooses to operate under.

It usually gets bad during the winter season, but I never expected this. I enjoy this site although I feel it has lost some relation to UE and taken much of mine with it. I still explore and I am going to stick with this site until the end, but I understand the opinions of the Resignees (correct term?) and I respect them a lot more than I used to, mainly for giving up a position of power for what they feel is right.

Not that anyone really gives a shit about my oppinion but I see it as a good thing on all sides

Lets be honest, the Mods that left have basically outgrown UER within themselves and are looking for a little more control over what they are a part of, thats fair

And Av runs this joint and he makes the final say thats fair too.

this isnt the end of UER or the last time you will see the four mods who left

My prediction , at least one will be back , maybe two, and UER will go on.

Jester and Ed. I will miss you guys but like I said, People change and Move on, Jester especially , you've been a mod since the first modships were passed out.

But Like I said, Life moves on, New Mods will replace the old ones and UER will continue like it or not, and thats not me being an Ass, but more reality
