Hey everyone.
I'm new here, referred by a not-so-new member. I figured the shirtless avatar would attract some friends (yes, it's a joke), but I'm having fitting-in troubles so I might as well post in here.
I'm a slightly-mature 18 year old (it's possible!!) from Pennsylvania named Gina. I live pretty much in the middle of nowhere, but if I travel in any direction for an hour I usually hit a big city or another state. There's tons of neat, old houses all over here though so finding something interesting isn't a big problem but usually the fences are.
I'm looking foreward to mostly looking at what other people find. Possibly seeing something local/area oriented in person.
But anyways, I'm not good at these intro things so I might as well stop while I'm ahead.
Have a great day!

make babies.

Hi all,
I'm new to the board, a bit of what you'd call an amateur photographer, and very new to urban exploring. If anything, I'm more interested in the photographic element, and less for the thrill of being somewhere I'm not supposed to be. Thus I find sites like abandoned buildings most interesting (the older the better).

I checked out the database to get some ideas for future expeditions, and was really surprised to see that my last location isn't listed (at least publicly... are some locations only shown when you're a full member?). It's an old grist mill in a little town called Thamesford, just outside of London, Ontario (CANADA). Here are a few highlights:

I would have added this location to the database, but it looks like I can't do much until I earn a full membership. It's a shame, I'm not much of a forum contributor, but I would certainly be involved in expanding/maintaining the locations database around Ottawa and Toronto.

Whats going everyone, call me void for short.

I kinda forgot to post a member introduction, so im doing it now.

Im new to this forum and infiltration.org, but im not very new to this line of hobby/work. I have some paramilitary training, and I know a good deal about some stuff similar to/regarding UE, so when I stumbled upon infiltration.org, I found myself a new hobby and a new way to enjoy myself, hehe.

I may post some how to's-on the tutorials link on the forums at some later time in my life, but just not right now. And if anyone has any question im free to answer, maybe..;)

Hello. Name's Bryan. New here too. I have been an urban explorer since before I heard of the term.
I was born and raised in Tampa, and have lived all around the bay area, and in Orlando and Winter Haven since then. I'm relatively new to Ocala.
It has been a long time since I have done any real exploring - due to transportation, time, and money issues - But my situation has changed for the better, and I'm ready to dive back into it.

Some places I have been:
Abandoned Florida Power plant in downtown St Pete (now renovated into offices)
The rooftop of the SunTrust skyscraper in downtown Tampa (infiltration)
The belltower of 1st united Methodist church in St Pete (infiltration)
A variety of vacant houses...
Probably others I'm not remembering. I didn't always take pictures. I have also explored outside some pretty interesting sites without actually getting inside.
Almost made it into the Floridan hotel back in the mid 90's (abandoned 1920s high rise in downtown Tampa.. now being restored)... but there looked to be a motion detector inside, so I aborted.

My exploration is not limited to the urban kind. I love rural and forest exploration, camping, hiking, and anything involving water. I have explored some dry sinkhole caves in the past as well.

I've always been into photography too.. Right now my equipmnet is quite lacking though, with just a borrowed Kodak Easy Share digital, and a 2001 Samsung DV Palmcorder. I used to have a Canon 35 mm SLR, but it died years ago.

Hoping to network and get to know a few people to go exploring with. The guy I went with before passed away 5 years ago, and none of my current friends have any serious interest.

I may dig up some of my old pix and scan them in so I can share them.... It will be awhile before I can get to it though.

AHA! I found the Intro thread.

Hi everyone. Northern California here. My first UE was technically when I was about 9. I lived in Rohnert Park CA at the time and Nor-Cal'ers will know this is a "Planned community"

I grew up in "G" section since I was 7

RP is a horribly sterilized suburban planned community I moved there at 6 years old going on 7 in '83. It is called "G" section because the school, park, and street names ALL start with the letter "G"

Before then I lived in Sacramento area (Davis) (Way before I heard about the railyards or underground tunnels in Sacto)

Well, when I was 9, in 4th grade my neighborhood park wasn't developed yet. 6 foot high fennel bushes and wild mustard still ruled supreme in "G" Section's future site of "Golis Park" across from "Gold Ridge Elementery"

One of the big deals when we were all that age was this one concrete tunnel in a dog leg in Golis park's creek...It was about 5-1/2 feet in diameter and we were all much shorter then. During the summer when the creek was mostly dry, getting into the tunnel involved grabbing the top and swinging in, keeping your feet about 36 inches apart for the first 500 feet or so. Once the elevation changed one just had to keep the feet 6-12 inches apart. Most kids, even with flashlights chickened out by this point. There was a neighborhood myth among us 4th graders about a deranged bum that lived down there and ate rats...When the other small children who ventured down there got away. Going through that tunnel and being able to give accurate acocunts about what lay at the end (Fork, terminating in 2 different rural locations in Rohnert Park's "Greenbelt") to older, wiser 5th and 6th graders gave one bona-fide status as "Not a Fraidy-cat" or something.

So after seeing "Stand By Me" when it came out we 4th graders decided to do something about it. 3 of us (My best friends Matt and Alan) and I decided we were going to wander the tunnel with big flashlights. We did...Terrified as all hell at first. Overactive imaginations going wild. Every time a car drove over a manhole cover it echoed inside. 3/4 of the way through we found a ledge one could climb directly onto to (In later, less innocent years access the storm drain grate at street level for launching bottle rockets at cars, joggers, old people walking their dogs, etc...But that's a different story) and realize we were less than a quarter mile from the end of the subdivision.

Now right behind the development there was a opening in the creek for drainage from the nearby dairy. That was the obvious exit.

So when we got to the fork in the tunnel 5'.5" to 3'-ish? we ducked and ran, all doubled over through the small tunnel with light at the end. Sure enough we were 20 feet from my friend's street on our block and had to scale a 6' fence or go back through the tunnel. We chose to go back through since we were already celebrating being most-triumphant on out first real attempt at the tunnel and were no longer nearly as nervous. Came back out at the park and all bragged to all the other kids about going thru and back. Bragging rights...Later on a dare the 3 of us made it all the way through without flashlights, too (Hell, we'd been down there dozens of times since then)

But we always wondered about that DARK tunnel after the fork. Well, by 5th grade we had the courage to go investigate it. Turns out it exited in a bramble thicket next to an old barn we wanted to go into a little ways from the first exit. When we got to the end of that dark tunnel we realized it was horribly overgrown with blackberry vines. So about a month later I went down with this 8th grader in the neighboorhood and we took my Dad's Dorcy hedgeclippers to clear out the brambles.

That barn, while it looked nice, had nothing of interest in it. Not worth going to Juvy for tresspassing! Off we went with more true tales to tell...Other brave kids could always verify them if they didn't believe.

Almost 21 years later and I know that tunnel is still there. Not the most exciting thing ever but it sure did seem like it back then, got me into exploring the Marin headlands and condemned environmental sites, etc. I may just have to revisit it and snag some pics next time I visit my parents...I wonder (Though I am NOT a "Tagger") if the SLAYER Logos I spray painted down there are still visibile? Remember...Creek at Golis Park in Rohnert Park. At the DOG LEG Next to tennis courts...NOT THE FAR END (TRUST ME!) (Another Childhood Story)

While I am not the master of this hobby it seems I do come by it and it's curiosity honestly?

Hi everyone, I'm a long time lurker in this site and I love to look at all the pics and the stories are the best. I want to start posting pics of some of the places I've explored over the years. I just have to figure out how to post them.

Since this thread has gotten a touch long, I've locked it and created a new one for everyone to introduce themselves in. It has been pinned in UE Main.
