| | | Part A of Trusted System arrives < on 3/15/2005 10:04 PM >
| | | Alright, the basics of the Trusted System have been coded. In your profile, you'll see a new section listing who you trust and who trusts you. You'll also see your current access level. If you happen to be Level 3, feel free to start browsing through the profiles of friends of yours and clicking the
Trust icon. You should do this for all the people you trust, even if they're already Level 3 and/or they already have other people who trust them. If you're not yet Level 3, just sit tight. It will take a week or two for everyone to start Trust Marking, and someone will get around to you eventually. If you don't know anyone on the site, you still have a chance to become Level 3, in Part B or Part C or Part D. -av

| | | Good work Av. I'm still level 2, but I'm sure that will change soon enough. Are we going to be notified who trusts us, or is this something we should keep track on ourselves?

For now, you'll be able to check by looking at your own profile. Just check it every now and then. In the future, it'll be obvious, because Level 2 users will have restrictions. But that won't arrive till Part E of this plan. -av

| | | You need a Level of 3 to give trusted status to other level 2's. You need 3 trusted marks to become a level 3.

| | | Trust cannot come from distrust, it can only come from trust. Trust can only be granted by those with trust, not from those who are not to be trusted.

Ah, I DID notice some trusted marks not connecting with my previous statement.

In fact, this system seems to work very well. It has spread much faster than I thought it would. I was given trust before I even knew the system was in place. I have given trust to any contributing member in my area, and anyone else who has helped me out in some way. [last edit 3/16/2005 2:02 AM by Louie - edited 1 times]

| | | How cool is this message I received when I tried to 'trust' myself?! "Well, it's great that you have so much confidence in yourself, but maybe you should try marking someone besides yourself as trusted?" Sheesh, ya can't trust anybody these days!

I apologise, I asked some via PM to mark me trusted, They haven't read their PM yet, and I am already at level three. Sorry, won't happen again.

| | | I can see the possibility of this turning into a "buddy" system. Anyway, if followed correctly it should work out well. The delay of loss of priveledges for level 2's is a great way around the LDB issues.

I went and "randomly" trusted Kuroneko and the diggers.ru guys because I think they all made contributed some really cool locations to the DB. Is that not a good thing to do? [last edit 3/16/2005 6:34 PM by Louie - edited 1 times]

Not good at all, I hope Av takes a look at who you have been giving this out to. Why would you give out trust to someone you dont even really know...
