The first two Beemers look awesome, it makes me want to go rip up my K75 and turn into a rat assed retro ride.

My collection of odballs and misfits, poor photos I know, I was experimenting with low light exposures. I learned I badly need a tripod..........

That's Vintage Euro Trash, junk is such a dirty little word.

That Virago was purchased out of a roll off bin filled with movie prop bikes.
I dug thru Kawi cop bikes, BMW cop bikes, Honda Interceptors, Dual sport bikes.

The Virago was about ten bikes in and looked like shit, at first I thought it was an XS1100 Yamaha. Once I got it out, I saw it was a 1983 XV750 Midnight and only had 8000mi on it. They use these when they want to wreck a bike that looks like a harley, this one had been dropped one time while being pushed and was retired.

Had it a few years now, runs great, no chain!!

Those CBX's sound like a Jaguar. They seem to have a tall first gear.
This one looks nice, and sounds great.

My friend wants to sell me his ZRX1200 for $2000:

(not actual bike)

It has a cracked fairing and a bit of engine case damage, but it runs great and has a Corbin seat with an aftermarket pipe. Would I be stupid to pass this up? I think would be a very fast, very fun bike.

Was it ever down? I've heard those bikes can have engine troubles down the road if they were laid down at some point.

I saw it get dropped... hmmmm, I didnt think much of it because I dropped my K75 quite a few times before it died.

We were riding through some twisties when we came up to a 4-way stop. He had just bought the bike not but a week earlier, and locked the brakes trying to stop for the intersection. It happened at no more than 20 mph and only scratched the case and cracked the fairing.

So I test rode the ZRX1200 during the 4th of July weekend...

All I can say is wow. So much torque, so much power.

I had it up to 130 on the freeway with little effort. My friend claims itll do 175 with the exhaust and jets.

It will pull wheelies in third gear yet itll cruise at 80 mph @ 4000 rpms...

If I buy this bike it's going to get me in a lot of trouble or be the end of me

I am an immature adrenaline freak when it comes to speed. That is why I will never own a crotch rocket or a sports car. My dads friend came over with his sweet new grey R1(HELLA SWEET). I asked if he minded if I wound it out in 2nd to see what it would do. He said have at it. So without a helmet or even gloves or glasses I lay'd a line & jetted off. B4 I realized it, I was 130 in 3rd in my dads neighborhood. WTF was I thinking? I 4got what I was even gonna do! When I took off the power got a hold of me & the rush made me do it. As I pulled back in the drive with tears running down my face from the wind, b4 they could even say a word to me I stated"That's why I don't own a sport bike". I'm stupid like that. I don't know what thing that is rated at, but was the quickest bike I have ever ridden. But still don't have that Harley/Buell torque, & the exhaust under ur ass keeps ur tushy warm.

every time I go to the HD shop for parts, I stop and look at the Buells

and hope they have another demo day cause I want to ride one

that may be my undoing as well

Wont be a problem much longer. Didn't HD close the Buell plant at the beginning of the year? So the stock in hand is all that is left. Give em 30 years & they will be worth a bit of $$$. Except the Blast.lol

I didnt know that but its no surprise I guess

young folks dont want "American made bikes we all know how inferior they are"

that being said some of the Buells seemed like pretty good values to me but what if you need a part 5 years from now?

I dont bash the Jap stuff I own 2 Honda dirt bikes, and Honda sells me parts going back to 1969 no less

still disappointing to hear about the Buells

I'm big into the Italian rides, one day I'll have a Ducati.

Check out this Alfa Romeo V6 crammed in a Harley frame........sweet, but the cam gears and belt are scarry. And heaven forbid you should drop something down the carb throat while running.

I don't imagine that kicker lever gets much use?
