No, I dropped him off at the Green Line in Oak Park, he said he'd take the train from there then either walk the rest of the distance or have someone pick him up.

The picture is from yesterday around 5:00 PM.

That's pretty chilling.

I really wanted to meet Dev, whenever I talked to him about coming out that way, or going to see the Studebaker plant, he seemed awesome. I haven't talked to him recently other than forum posts and I feel like I've let myself down for never getting out in time to meet the dude.

I didn't really know him, I talked to him online and of course he was always around the site - chiming in here or there, he sounded like a great guy and my condolences go out to any family he's left behind and of course all of his friends.

I'm sure with patience all the details will surface about his passing, it's a shame he had to leave us so young.

Oh wow.
That's some awful terrible news.
I called him when I was in Chicago but we didn't get to meet up.

I can't even begin to understand how crushing this is. I am in shock. So young.
I don't understand how someone so full of life can go so quick, its not fair.

My prayers go to him and his family.

I am absolutely confused and astounded by this news.

Just two weeks ago I was just sitting on a sidewalk outside a bus station in Chicago talking to him.

Dev was a real explorer, no doubt about it, and we saw eye to eye on so many things. I'll always remember hanging out at the Froebel school with him last year while they demolished it around us.

He was one of the truly cool people of the UE community and he will be missed.

any pictures that any of you would like to share would be great. there arent a whole lot of picture of him over the last few years, mostly just ones he took. so any pictures would be greatly appreciated. im his cousin by the way. and ill probably frequent these boards a little more now as i was getting fairly interested in this stuff just hadnt gotten around to going with him.

also, he is being cremated and his ashes will be spread throughoutt the various buildings he liked to frequent. he had told his girlfriend and i that this was what he wanted done with his ashes. so next time youre at the studebaker plant, one of the many buildings he photographed in detroit, or an abandoned liquor store in gary a piece of him will be there.

Dev and I spoke on more then a few occasions. He was a pretty cool guy I liked him. Too bad I never got to meet him. He may have died as he wanted to.

ya sorry about the confusion by posting on his name. i didnt realize it until the last post. ill get my own name soon enough.

and yes, he sure loved his 40s. he drank one here last night while i was at work before he headed home. and on his way he decided to take a picture of some trains. last week a friend of ours jumped in front of a train on the same tracks, almost same exact spot. not sure if this is why he was taking a pic or not. he will surely be missed.
