I was sad to hear of his passing. He was always really entertaining to talk to and really supportive. The last message I got from him was "hi, you look really pretty today".
Oh and one of my favourite quotes from him was "modesty is for idiots".

RIP Corley

Steve was one of the best people on this fucking earth and I will miss the shit out of his raspy voice yelling "Lily" every ten seconds when we were around each other. Last time I saw Corley he convinced me it was a great idea to do a front flip through a gigantic fire. Turned out to be a horrible idea, but atleast you can see Corley in the background with his fist in the air and I have these awesome 3rd degree burns to remind me of that day.

LONG LIVE STEVE MOTHER FUCKING CORLEYONE!

Moving this to "In Memorium" as I see it drifting down the page already in Main... don't want to lose it.

Met him once at a Rochester meet; don't remember much other than how awesome and off the wall he was.

RIP Corley; the world lost one of the good ones.

Rest in peace Jedi.

I'm reminded of a quote from Hunter S. Thompson.

“There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.”

Since no one else has said this, what happened?

Wow. You should Google 'empathy'. Maybe try and ponder the concept. Sorry but the lack at a time like this is harsh. A much respected and loved bro has passed. R.I.P. Never met him, but admired his work and personality on here. He lived more than many that live to 80 or more.

I think this is human nature, people want to know what happened to someone they knew. For me, I always wonder if it was u.e. related.

I'm not sure why you equate my curiosity with a lack of empathy. While I'd never met him in person, I did find his posts to be among the interesting ones on UER. If you want a real lack of empathy, how about when Jesus Jones upset a large number of people by faking his own death?

This is partly why I asked, and with the creation of the In Memoriam section, it's bound to come up. I hadn't realized until its creation just how many members had died.

Agreed Zen, I'm curious too when someone passes. And Shawn, I should have remained neutral and said nothing on your comment. Though imo, it seems cold when reading tributes of respect and admiration, to show interest in how he died, but showing no (apparent) care that the person is gone. Or sympathy for those grieving.

People react in different ways. I should expand my empathy to better accept that. Agreed about Jesus Jones, that was an odd situation, a cry for help and attention? or something? Now when he really dies, people may say it's the second coming of his death, and doubt it's real...

Sad to see additions to the memoriam section.

No disrespect was intended toward those who are grieving for him, and while I didn't personally know him, it did bother me a bit that we've lost yet another member of the UE community.

Man, that is devastating. Corley was a great man.

But it sounds like he left behind a life worth celebrating. When you make a mark on people's lives like he did, you're never really gone.

Steve Corley (Don Corleyone) passed away the end of this week.
He was a kickass dude with a great personality and a ton of fun to be around.
He will be extremely missed.

R.I.P. Steve.

bump.
He was on both my private boards for good reasons. I came back only to learn of his passing. My condolences to his many friends and to his family. It still is a shock to me. We had some great times here. He will be missed.

May you find what you seek, Steve

Oh man this sucks. I was just thinking the other day that I had not heard from him in a long time. Had some really good adventures with him. Somewhere I have an awesome photo of him doing his fire breathing trick on a camping/exploring trip in north east PA. If I can find it, I will post it up.

ive been off this site for a long time and made this account just to try to reconnect with a few people, steve being one of them. was searching through the site and found this thread, i cant believe it. we used to talk quite a bit on facebook and the phone. had plans a few times to meet up but it never happened. im saddened by this news, not sure what to even say.

i made this video for him back in 2011 because he liked this song. we used to watch the airloaf channel on youtube and laugh our asses off at it and thats where we first heard this track. im sorry we never got to meet up, steve.
