This morning was probably the most fun I've had exploring in a while. We left RVA at 230AM in order to arrive at our intended target prior to the sunrise. We must have been tired or something cause we went through two buildings in the pitch black looking for the staircase before we finally found the right building. I'm usually not the kind of person to get creeped out (unless I think the cops are coming) but it was creepy as fuck inside of those buildings, especially since it was dark as hell. My friend felt the same way and he didn't know anything about the history of the place
Here are two shots I took for now:

Work commenced on this abandoned construction site in 2002.

The family built complex (between a mother and her two sons) was to consist of a pharmaceutical laboratory with a university situated out the front but funds ran dry and the family had a falling out - the project was abandoned mid-construction.

Since then the place has sat empty and unused with a large fence around it - all the construction equipment; cinder blocks, tools, bags of concrete have been left behind collecting dust and colonies of spiders.

Sitting on a hill in a prominent location this location is highly exposed to the motorway which is why the place is so recognisable, however as the site is guarded by security 24/7 (split between 12 hour shifts) the walls have remained free of graffiti and tagging for over twelve years.

Whilst I was unable to gain access to the laboratories situated at the rear of the building, this here link I have provided displays exactly what I was unable to document: http://zupppropert...st/270-lahrs-road/

I love that staircase! I want to go back and hit it at night
with a full moon. I have some shots that while they couldn't
be posted if I pulled them off they would be a lot of fun to do! ; )

This milk factory has been operating out of town for about one hundred years but "recently" sold its empire and moved onto a better location. The entire place is gradually being stripped with equipment being auctioned off - this is what it looked like about 18 months ago.

You should go back soon dude! I hate to say it but I legitimately think this place will get serious about security soon, unless they don't have enough money

My favorite from my most recent exploration. Rest of the photos are in the NE US forum here. Yes that's a piano, no I don't know how it got there.
