ok...i'll share it...was going to post on link to keep it relative but its only for members.....

it was in a suburb of sydney called Redfern, and u may have heard of the area for the wrong reasons as its seen its share of troubles in the past....

the house was a three storey, split level victorisn terrace, and shared by 6 - 7 ppl ( fluctuated ) ...i started seeing a girl who lived there and eventually moved in semi permanently....

for some weeks in the beginning i was never home alone, due to lots of ppl always around...then one night, my firt experience, we had all gone to a party but around 1am i had decided i was tired and wanted to go home, so headed off..as i was still new i didnt have a key yet and a housemate dropped me home and let me in..there were two doors at front and back, security doors as such, so we got home and they locked me in....accidently deadlocked it...this would turn out to be quite upsetting......

i remember that night generally going about my buisness, just watching tv and such, nothing exciting...the tv room was at front of house and kitchen at back on first level...and a dark dog-leg corridor lead between both...
i was walking from kitchen to tv and felt a rush move through my body, it was cold, and impacted on my chest, made me stop and think, wtf ? but ignored it and went back to tv. While i was sitting there my attention kept being pulled to doorway of room, as if i expected to see someone watching me ( shit my body temp is dropping now thinkn about it ) but no one there...so eventually i went back through corridor and was hit with the most horrible sensation that someone was going to kill me...hard to explain, like knowing an attack was imminent or something...and felt the cold rush again, only this time it was heavy on my chest...ok something is not quite right....
my next thoughts were this feels in every way like the place is haunted, but best thing to do is not panic, just chill, just likely im not used to being alone here and my fear is creating the sensation as my mind trys to adapt to these feelings..i'll be cool
in the dog leg of corridor on first level was house phone..right where it was a shaft of light illuminated its spot on a small table, and briefly towards tv room was a few ft of darkness before corridor re-illuminated by tv room....
so i think ok, i'll call a mate, just chat, say howdy, i will feel better and realise im just being silly...
so we chat, and he has known this house and ppl longer than i, and i feel sensation again, so i tell him my feelings and say im gettn a bit nervous...his reply was ' didn't they tell you it was haunted ? ' oh f##k....
i beg him to come over but he cant, he's too far away...and as i look towards tv room, and this is hard to articulate accurately, along corridor, as if shadow had momentarily taken shape, but, not solid, just, errr.. i saw the outline of an arm and leg moving, as if walkin towards me , like a sillouhette, of half a person as i looked in that direction... ( ok now my eyes are watering ) ...i didnt scream but choked...just gagged and i could hear my friend sayn' what happened.?'.he could tell by the noise i suddenly made something not good had happened ' did u see something ? ' f#k yeh i gotta go ' threw the phone down, and ran for tv room and slammed door shut....when i got my breath, grabbed my wallet and made for front door...and it was locked...i've never been so scared.. had to go and barricade myself in tv room til others got home..
so the tv was a projector on a wall, no screen and image about 4ft by 4ft..at one stage an electric looking pencil thin outline of the side of a head and shoulder appeared at edge of screen....now i was practically bawling... how do yo react to this shit....i could feel the tears streamin on my face but all i could really do was run upstairs, and like a child, hide in bed, curled up and praying for someone to get home....
when they did i demanded answers and explained what had happened...and it came out.... for some reason ppl had voted to never speak of whats been happening, because a. no one would beleive it, and b. they entertained the idea that maybe it wasnt happening (?) ..some ppl have strange ways of dealin with shit....but one housemate told me one w/e she was home alone, she saw, or somethin happened so scarey she spent close to 50hrs locked in her room - and she still wouldnt say what...
but since i moved in things got worse, the sensation of ' something bad ' not just 'something ' increased. heres some examples
one night my gf and i were losing it, we'd felt horrible cold sensations, and culminating with the feeling of a hand drop onto my left shoulder as i moved through hse, we bolted upstairs and locked bedroom door. we heard both front doors open, our flatmates voices, kitchen cupboards open and closing YAY ! we ran down to [email protected] one there...we ran back and locked ourselves in bedroom and woke the next day.
some friends were in first floor bedroom, door closed, and i was downstairs in kitchen, it was daylight, but this house didnt get much light...as i turned to walk upstairs a dark 8ft shadow , head, shoulders, was briefly visible standing at door ( ok now my eyes are waterin telln this ) and ran to front door to let as much light in as possible, figure was gone...
during this time, arguemnts between hsemates increased and relations strained, not over the haunting, just in general, but i know it was connected...
i would be watchn tv and the volume would suddenly go down, it was run through a stereo with large vol. nob and u could clearly see it had changed...the picture would briefly go a strange static....
from the top floor u would hear someone walk upstairs but then no one would be there...
a friend walked into the kitchen at 3am once and nearly had a heart attack, swears he saw briefly the figure of an 'older' man, maybe 60'ish at kitchen table and for a split second look right through him before disappearing...
he also heard the sound of a girl cryin on stairway, thought it was a hsemate but then no one there, this happened many times later
one night gf and i stood on stairs kissn, and when we kissed lights went out, we stopped, lights went on..we both looked at each other, kissed again lights flickered off.. only one light switch and we could see it where we stood
ppl would stay the night, we would say nothn, and they would get up and leave in middle of night, some said they 'felt' something, others just said they wanted to go home- i knew why...
one night a friend and i logged eveything on a pad that happened, it was three pages long
now for the stupid part
one night four of us tried a seance...worlds worst idea, but we really didnt know what we were doing..it was in room on top floor
the seance itself was uneventful, not one thing happened, but others fell asleep in room and i couldnt sleep...just lay there listening...during the night there were footsteps on stairway, and at one point cupboard door in room slowly swung open and closed...that was about it
within a week two long term residents moved out, gave no reason
but more shit happened, cold rushes, feelings of having the air knocked out of ur chest, more sounds about the place...not good..and my gf and i split and she moved out, i moved home...within two weeks only two ppl remained and told me house was almost unliveable...just horrible to be in...then we confessed to seance ...and shit hit the fan...
so they got someone to come over who they knew had some experience in this shit and they were beside themselves, said they could barely breathe when they went in ..and told us that the spirit of a young girl and old man had haunted the place... the old man was malevolent or evil or angry for lack of words, and the girl frightened and seemingly trapped there....the man was angry at ppl being there and had progressively become more and more active... the girl progressively scared
when lights went out or volume on tv changed etc, it was the girl being childish and playful, these things never really scared us...we got used to it...but the horrible feelings, the dark shadows and such were the old man makn his presence known...
when we had done a seance we had left a 'door' open, and the house was becomming occupied by other energies, hence ppl fighting and eventually movin out...too much energy in one hse and we were lucky nothin worse had happened.
she couldnt tell us why the girl or man were there, and no history revealed any more about it, but she was able to clean the house as such, but everyone moved out - and that was the end of it...
a personal fave was one mornin a hsemate and i were in loungeroom watchn tv, and telling a sceptical mate about the house and its occupants, it was light in the loungeroom and a beautiful sunny day outside... in the corner of the room was two telephones, ( we had a line put in ) and one phone didnt work properly so another had been plugged in, but that sat close by, the cords jumbled together.....and as they laughed and mocked us the phone rang, and the sceptic reached for the phone closest to her which was the one ringing, but no one was there..i pulled the cord and saw it was the one not connected and showed her, she went pale , and after that day never came to the house after sun down ever again
so much happened and others have their own stories.... it was perhaps one of the most intense periods of my life, and thinkn , ' am i going mad ? ' many ppl disbeleived us and i soon joined the others in not telling anyone about it...if you cant prove it, ppl think you've lost it...it just gets too hard to expect ppl to beleive... and nothing has ever happened to me since ( crosses fingers )
this was almost 12yrs ago now....but i carry with me the experience and a solid respect for ' other ' things in this lifetime

glad to share, happy to answer questions, maybe pm me...

Posted by Mongoose Next time you go, (if you do) whenever you feel that presence again...just start taking random photos in the area you feel the presence. You may even feel cold spots, or see some kind of apparition...don't be scared and run. A typical spirit can't hurt you. Apparently, someone died there; probably working a long time ago. It takes a LOT of energy for them to come to our plane, so therefore your digital stuff will loose battery power. Reason is, spirits are just electomagnetic energy, and use our devices to give them more energy. What you don't see with your eyes, your camera will pick up. Same with sounds, too.

Wow. . .
That takes the cake.
If death generated 'negative energy,' and traumatic death generated even more 'negative energy' then it should follow that every battlefield in the world is seriously haunted. Every street corner in Watts too! Ha ha ha
With 100,000 dead at a time in the most grisly manner imaginable, battlefields should be meccas of this phenomenon you speak of!
Except that they are not and there is no proof that this phenomenon is any more than a hoax.
I should be able to set up my rig @ Gettysburg, Normandy, Ypres or the Somme, #1 North Highway, Karbala Gap, or Gloucester Hill and capture NOTHING BUT spooky orbs. Dresden and Tokyo should have some sweet haunting too - 1 million plus dead by fire-boming?
It just does not hold H2O my friend.

Wow, you're good. Because I never said the words: Negative energy. Pull that out of you ass? Yes, the whole world is haunted, DC. Some spirits are strong and restless or angry enough to come to our plane to haunt and some are not, or choose to move on. I just doesn't hold water with you. You are not special, or are any of us, so your personal belief is just that. No biggie. Sorry you have to put my interests and knowledge down to make yourself look...smart or whatever. Cheers.

trying to apply such simplistic logic to somethin we dont understand will inevitabley lead to a dead end, otherwise science would have this sorted long before now.... no one mentioned negative or traumatic energy as a cause or result...simply if it were felt then take a picture, u may get lucky...the feelings associated may seem negative but it may be our interpretation of something hard to articulate...
no one expects u to beleive....and no one is surprised when another person doesnt, and i welcome all to comment.....

Or, just continue exploring, and take a picture if you want. Its not like ghosts can materalize and rip out your heart, and if they try to, whack 'em in the head with your mag lite. That messes up anyone.

True words, mate. Nevermind them. They just want to start stuff, for some reason. They don't believe it or understand it, so they make fun of us believers or knowers. I am used to it, and I don't expect or try to make others understand, either. If I cared what others thought....maybe.

Once I was in the top floor of a factory, and a few people did see me sneak in, around the rather large: No Trespassing. Violaters will be prosecuted sign. Anyways, I was adjusting my tripod for a shot when I heard the cop siren nearby, coming my way. I thought: "Oh, shit! Well, better get the hell out." So I got out of there fast, and then once out walked around like I wasn't doing anything. The cops were after a drug bust three blocks down. Well, at least I didn't get in trouble, but it had me worried.

Welcome to CaptOrbit’s 100th post, Rambling essay Spectacular!!!

Since I value my reputation here as a fair, honest and level-headed member, and since my actual number one wildest, scariest UE story would get the “BS” tag hurled at me probably within minuets of my clicking “post reply”, I’ll share this one with you instead.

Picture a large badly decaying (20-30 rooms) house rising out of on three sides the inky-black water left to pool in the space between the building’s foundation and the retaining walls forming a narrow almost moat of sorts. The yard has been un-kept for years despite the fact until recently (at the time of the events) the house had been occupied. The house had saplings growing from it’s box gutters, and the rear portion of the house had fallen in to such disrepair that it was possible (if you could find it in all the underbrush and if the “moat’ was dry) for a grown man to simply step into the building using neither a door nor window, just the gapping hole in the side of the house. The foundation wall facing the driveway was painted with various gypsy and occult symbols, and judging that they were quite old and had been done with a brush as opposed to spray paint seemed to imply it was an occupant's handiwork. The family was known to the locals to have a reputation for instability and violence, and as a matter of fact I would find out much later that the house’s last occupant was a virtual prisoner. One day while conversing with the guy who cut our grass the subject of the house came up, I asked him who lived there, he told me, and I stood for a moment staring at a man with virtually no education clad only in boots and two sizes too small jeans that were neither buttoned or zipped and tried to decide if he was kidding. I decided literature was not his forte and began asking others who had lived in the neighborhood for years and they all agreed, he was right and the most cursory check of county records bore all of my neighbors out. That day as demolition crews tore into the building and it began to topple into it’s own inky-black tarn, I was indeed witnessing the fall of the house of Usher.

The house was demolished around 10-12 years ago after being seized for back taxes and condemned as an eye-sore/nuisance. No trace that the house ever stood remains, the city even had the concrete driveway removed. The vacant property was later sold to a family acquaintance.

Before the demolition was to begin I knew I had to get inside. The obvious entry point was the hole mentioned above, so I used it but found that it only led to a ground floor “mother in law” style apt with the doors that presumably led to the rest of the house firmly sealed. Fine I‘ll find another way in. Now at this time I’d would like to point out that I usually don’t take my mother UE’ing but I was a freshman in college and still living at home which as it turns out was right next door to the target property. When I told her my plans to check the place out she insisted on going with me, ok, why not? It was just next door, and besides that, it was a chance for her to answer her own questions about the mysterious structure hulking next door, such as what was it like inside? Why was the Christmas tree (visible thru the grimy widows) left lit all year? and Was the TV. set seen flickering thru the filthy drapes actually being watched? Upon looking thru the front windows we were greeted by the sight of a large magnificently wood paneled room rich with seemingly hand carved trim details, not to mention antique furniture dating probably from the late 30’s back to high Victorian pieces dating to probably the late 1880’s- early 1890’s, including a massive peddle operated organ as the show piece of the room. The closet doors stood open, and they were packed. A large dark wooden staircase curved up and away into the shadows.

Now we knew we had to get in but the front windows and doors were locked and I wasn't going to break in to a building that still housed personal effects that someone might want. We didn't need to anyways as it turned out, a window was unlocked on the ground floor of the east wing, but the room we stepped into was a far cry from even the faded splendor of the front room or even the cozy functionality of the apt in the back of the house. These rooms were as dilapidated and derelict as any abandoned house I’d ever been in. Large chunks of plaster littered the buckled and warped floor , broken laft hung haphazardly from the ceiling. This looked like a true abandonment, it was hard to believe we were in the same building. These rooms were beyond even guessing what function they had once served, but the strangest was yet to come. stepping into the hall beyond this suite of ruined rooms I was confronted by the backside of a rusty refrigerator sitting squarely in the middle of the door. I tried to move it, and I'm not a small guy but It didn't want to budge more than a few inches either way. Well it couldn't move, it had been anchored in place by steel cables, so we climbed over it but only to find every door and hall leading from that area blocked by a rusty cable anchored refrigerator. Had the elderly woman I'd seen rocking on the front balcony all those years been a prisoner? or were had the refrigerators been put in place to keep her from wandering into less safe parts of the house? but why were they anchored in place so securely?, certainly a frail looking old woman couldn't move them by herself, could she?
I began throwing all of my might into pushing the next fridge as far as it would go on it’s tether, I paused for a moment to get a better grip, but the sound of the rusty casters scraping across floor continued. What the....? My eyes quickly followed the sound to the far end of the hall, the refrigerator blocking that end was moving, and not as a result of the efforts at my end of the hall either, some one was pushing it, hard, but it too was tethered down. Was it the police? or worse yet one of the younger owners/ family members, the same people who threatened to sick dogs on a church group that had wanted to clean up the yard and remove the saplings growing from the box gutters, as a free service to the elderly woman while she had lived there. I stood for a moment frozen, looking thru the roughly four-inch gap between my refrigerator and the wall. Suddenly a hand thrust thru the similar gap of other fridge and then a face appeared, low like the owner of hand was crouching, we locked eyes, I’d been spotted

A chorus of racket sprung up from the far end of the hall,
“What’s going on?” my mother whispered to me in an urgent tone.
“There's’ someone over there.” “We’re not alone.”
“ Did they see us?”
“Yes.” I replied.
We still had to climb the first refrigerator we’d encountered to get to our exit, but there were two refrigerators between us and them. soon to be three but I know that would probably buy us another 20-30 seconds. We made to the widow and scrambled out into the daylight , making a dive for the nearby woods when out of the corner of my eye I caught movement down the hill toward the front of the house, It was a man in dark clothes running, fast. The color of his shirt matched the sleeve of the person I’d glimpsed inside it was him, but he wasn’t running towards us, he was running towards the street towards a parked truck, a truck with the letters CG&E (Cincinnati Gas and Electric) painted on the side and he was in uniform with his id badge clearly trailing behind flopping wildly from the chain around his neck. I stopped.
“It's a damn CG&E guy!”
My mom had now also stopped,
“What!” she exclaimed. What the hell was he doing in there?”
“I don’t know but he sure is in a hurry” I replied. “I know he’s got a two-way in that truck though, we’ll see what he does, if he just sits there, then we’ll know he’s calling the cops.”

The mystery man flew around the front of his truck and jerked the door open. He literally leapt into the cab. and slammed the door shut. Now for the moment of truth, he’d gotten a good look at my face, all the neighbors would know my description and worse yet I lived next door. The truck engine started, but there was no sitting, The truck began to accelerate away hard, I could tell he had it floored. Hmm... Well how do you like that, another explorer. We must of scared him as much as he scared us. Actually it was probably worse for him, he could have lost his job had we been the owners. The noise we heard after I was spotted, was, thinking back, more consistent with some falling over themselves trying to get away than the sound of someone climbing over a refrigerator.

I watched the house for a while from the safety of one of our upstairs bedrooms, no one came to investigate, no police, no owners, no one. We managed to get at least a peak at the inside and given ourselves (and some poor CG&E guy) a real scare to boot. All and all not a bad day’s exploring.

Edit, In a post this big I had to find somthing to change

I'm dead serious the "BS" ( but quite true) story was a seriously weird night. It was like something out of the twilight zone. It got to the point where even the people who were there were looking at each other going "Oh, come on! What next!"
I'll start typing though and I'll see how it looks.

Last night actually, I was exploring na old covered bridge and I got hit with a rock. My friends and I searched the area for the punks who threw it, but could find no one...

I'm dead serious the "BS" ( but quite true) story was a seriously weird night. It was like something out of the twilight zone. It got to the point where even the people who were there were looking at each other going "Oh, come on! What next!"
I'll start typing though and I'll see how it looks.

Wow... that was a great story Capt. Really creepy....

I'm looking forward to the next one!

Yog-Sothoth knows the gate. Yog-Sothoth is the gate. Yog-Sothoth is the key and guardian of the gate. Past, present, future, all are one in Yog-Sothoth. He knows where the Old Ones broke through of old, and where They shall break through again. He knows where They have trod earth’s fields, and where They still tread them, and why no one can behold Them as They tread.

I’m working on it. The number1 story is a lot longer than the “House of Usher” story, and it took me a week to find enough free time to type the Usher one. I’ll have it up soon though.

The personal responsibility train left the station years ago, and you gave it the finger as you watched it leave.
