| | | Posted by Tcherno On course, i wanna see what's behins thoses doors that used to be locked. I enjoy seeing unusual random places that not much peoples see then. And the explorative side is like going on a treasur hunt when i was kid. But... deep inside... Most of the time, i feel like i barely exist, doing the same thing everyday, for the same reason, the same peoples, same result... each day is the previous one recycled again and i try not to sleepwalk too much through it. When i set my first foot inside a location... everything change, adrenalin get in, all my senses are in alert, I dont see, I look, I dont hear, I listen, I feel the present moment one second at the time, I'm 100% "there". I feel a lot more alive than walking from the usual "point A" to "point B" I dont think i could ever stop...

I'm tempted to put some copyright on it so each time you use it, i collect 0.65 cents that go toward a fund for a beer... But I'll stop at just being honored someone officially quotted me on something... Youre the first, really !

| | | It's a strange feeling that I had never felt before. Being in a places where people used to be but no longer are. Knowing that moments forever in someone elses mind is in a long forgotten place by general populace. It also makes me super aware of my senses and really get lost in the moment room by room.

And depending on the location, we may be the very last people to see some of these places before they are lost for all eternity. Not trying to sound melodramatic, but it's true. I may photograph a mine one day and the bureau of mine bulldozes the entrance the next. It happens every day out west. Rogue Fang

| | | Because they make such lovely images. Or as I say on my website about page: I love the melancholy of abandonment & what ruination says about our values as a culture. There is indeed beauty in decay & the ending of possibilities & prosperity.

| | | I just really like poking around places that no longer have people in them. Seeing how things go after people stop going into an area is interesting to me. And seeing what's on the other side of the curtain. And in the case of tunnels and factories and the like, seeing the side of things that people unknowingly rely on but yet have no idea what it looks like or how it works.

| | | There is something compelling and mysterious about these places. I always wonder "what happened here? what did it use to be like? why did everyone leave?" I'm also interested in historic preservation and architecture, which ties in quite nicely. Plus an interest in photography. I guess I'm just attracted to the forlorn. I'll look at houses and I'm always drawn to the old, run-down fixer uppers, because I can see their beauty and can envision their potential.
