| | | Sad day, It makes me very happy I was able to get in there at least once even if it was camera-less (Unless you count an old camera phone). Both attempts I made with the SLR were spoiled with the improved security.

| | | Just a day or two ago I talked to someone who lives in the new apartment buildings next to Gates. He said he's been living there for just under a year, and he's been into Gates twice with absolutely no problems. When I asked him how he dealt with the improved security he seemed pretty surprised to hear about it. Either way this building is coming down soon. Might be time for one last shot.

| | | Would anyone like to go this or next weekend? Anyone experienced, too? I know security has heightened, but it would be worth one more scout to visit. Access may be easier if they have the asbestos cleanup crew wandering different parts of the complex. [last edit 9/17/2013 6:35 AM by Ibaapzo - edited 1 times]

| | | It's my dream to get in there, so I'm willing to try. But I don't think its hopeful. Also, it could still be up for a very long time even though they have the permits.

| | | I have been absolutely dying to get into the gates factory ever since I first moved here. Now, my gates factory fixins' are building and I plan to make a trip soon. I visited the other day to do some scouting and was not able to see any POE's into the factory from the legal side of the fence without looking to conspicuous, unless someone has a grappling gun or trebuchet of some sort, then we can consider ourselves as good as in. As far as security measures go, the weird little nook that accommodates a fire hydrant on the south side of the building has the chain link fence peeled back where access could be attained. On the security measures concern, I was able to spot the on-duty security guard with a telephoto and heavy polarizing filter through the window of his white Chevy Aveo catching up on his REM cycles. The time is soon
And i only explore with the strobe setting. The standard setting is for squares. People tend to get a little upset with me, but it's the only way to truly live. -Relik |

Good luck. Let us know how it goes. Looks like they've been slowly cleaning up the site. Two of the smaller buildings to the North are gone now.

Gates is just a big open empty warehouse dude, I personally thought it was pretty boring compared to places like the cement plant and the Sugar Mill.

I'm not fighting with you over UER Adam. No, I didn't explore Gates, but I've seen plenty of recent photos of the inside and talked to a few people who have been inside within the past 2 months. And from what I have gathered it isn't worth it, just my personal opinion. At this point I am not too interested in exploring Gates, there are bigger better things that need to be conquered [last edit 10/11/2013 6:53 PM by urbexkeith - edited 2 times]

This. I've explored them both, and had a blast doing both. It would be a waste to miss either one in my mind.

| | | Attempted last night. No success for there were TWO guards, one that was standing outside of his car puffing on a smog and another that was actually on foot with a flashlight! I couldn't believe it. Soon enough.
