| | | Wandering around behind the industrial park again. Keep finding myself out there for some reason. Couple taken along one of the old rail lines.

Nice shots of the Meteor! I live down the road from it. I got pictures of it years ago before it was moved there. |
Thanks, man! Did it used to be parked behind the fin tube building over by hwy 75? If so, then you can see it in some of google earths older imagery...

Nice. Sorry but this was the first thing I though of when I saw it. "Unification Monument" in uh, not Oklahoma.

| | | Ha! Much nicer statue than Skedee's. Here's their old jail. Must not have had much in the way of hardened criminals. [last edit 3/27/2012 9:56 PM by dwtaylor999 - edited 1 times]

| | | Sorry for the crappy pic, but here is one from last night. Wish I had a better camera like your's Cajun. Then I could have had a better turnout on my shots. My results were not good at all on the picture end of things. Got couple others looking out of windows on the second floor at the park, but nothing turned out like I had hoped. Guess I'll just have to try again

| | | Found this yesterday while my brother and I took a quick tour of the east side of the industrial park (primarily Calpine). It was on the east side of the tracks next to one of the tributaries for Pryor creek. It's an outfall contact structure where the effluent is mixed with a disinfectant such as chlorine before it is discharged from the facility.

| | | The Phillips gasoline plant near Whizbang/Denoya under construction in 1921. It was one of five gasoline plants (refineries) in the area. The house you see at the far end was part of the Phillips camp built to house the workers. Part of the old camp still stands, including that house.
...and today.

| | | A strange structure about a 1/4 mile south of the old Blackburn OK, cemetery. It's just off a dirt road without even a vestige of any road or path to it and was quite a bit larger than it appeared from the road. Once I reached it, I saw it was partially underground, and there were the remnants of a much larger stone building just to it's north, partially collapsed and almost completely covered with vegetation. It was very near a creek, so at first I thought a mill, but didn't find any evidence to support that. The fit and markings showed the work of a professional stone mason. It felt more like a fortress than a farm house.
