| | | DANGER: COLLAPSING FLOOR! < on 4/16/2011 4:23 PM >
| | | Has anyone ever actually fallen through a floor? Or seen/ knows someone personally who has fallen through a floor? Not talking about I heard from a friend of a friend stories.

| | | Few weeks ago when 8 of us went to a hospital in Mass, i think 4 out of the 8 fell through a floor at least once that day. Not completely through but i think all fell in up to their waist.
And i fell through a floor at a kirk in NY.

| | | I witnessed most of a stairwell collapse behind me after reaching a second story. Had to climb onto the roof of the porch and jump off. Pack a rope!

| | | Not as in my whole body. My foot went through a floor once but I wasn't watching where I was going. That's it (so far).

| | | My friend fell through the 2nd floor and into the living room of a house one time it was quite funny. We both laughed for about 10 minutes.

| | | A friend of mine fell through the 8th platform of the cradle in an Atlas F missile silo in Roswell. Luckily, the 8th platform is only 15 feet above the concrete floor, but he fractured his kneecap and we had to help him climb up out of there. Freaky to watch, I was on the platform above him and was looking down through the grates and watched him disappear in a cloud of dust. The booming sound of him hitting the bottom resonated throughout the silo. Scary stuff.

Scary stuff indeed, falling through a floor into darkness and dust seems very movie esque?

| | | I once jumped up onto a roof to quickly realize what I was standing on was just roofing shingles covering parallel beams with nothing between. Jumped up, put my foot through and then moved REALLY quickly to more solid ground.
I've been lots of places where I wasn't paying attention to my footing to suddenly only feel air, look down and realize there's nothing below me. Good thing I keep a hand or two in the right place to not die.
I've yet to fall through floors but it's an exploring related paranoia of mine.

i had something similar happen to me near my uncles old farm. neighbor had died and the house was untouched for decades, we went to go visit one day and i went through the second floor to the first where he was. it was old and out of code, so the ceiling of the first was low enough that when i feel through from the second floor i didnt go that far. haha sucked but it happens

Fuck, and I'm always worried about soft/squishy spots. Hope I don't stumble into a random people eating flooring chasm...
