| | It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood < on 1/8/2010 1:54 AM >
| | | It was cold and windy, but still a good day for exploring. Went out to an set of old buildings right off of the road. I have no clue how long they have been there or what they were. Somebody cleared out a ton of brush from around them which makes them way more visible, but probably allows for some better pictures too. 1.

Looks like it's in the middle of nowhere, and it is cold as hell today. Where abouts is that at, I live in the same area as you.

| | | It used to be super overgrown and almost invisible from the road, but in the last couple months someone started kinda maintaining the grounds. I'm guessing that it is a little to visible for someone to hang out there too much now.

Note to south region new folks..... If it's in Texas, 2X has been there/done that. Remember, he is the only winner of 2 consecutive UER Lifetime Achievement Awards

| | | That is a pretty cool place to find... I can't do anything when it's that cold, though. At least the bees were probably sleeping and no yellow jackets. Man, I miss exploring... I need to get back out there soon.

I had my own little experience with yellow jackets this past summer Happiedaze. I've been in this area all my life, seen them, etc., but never have I had them be so aggressive as what these were. Stung me too, little f'ing bastards. I've since found out that these critters are some of the most aggressive insects in the world.

| | | Cold days are good because not only are there no insects, but there are not people out either. Makes those high visibility places way easier.

Agreed, but it's hard to get your buddies out in my experience. I swear, in Texas it's either too f'in hot, or too f'in cold for everyone. I just deal with, I always have, I can't change the weather, so I just try to work with it, and like you puravida, use it to my advantage.

And it sucks that they can sting multiple times.
