the porch is gone anyway... the building has been stabilized and boarded up tight. The screws holding the wood on have a strange type head that I have never seen before. The state is sincere in keeping people out of the McNaughton.

Ironically the oldest building there. MY dad met a lady in florida that was born int the Kitchen in the building you are stepping on.

I've seen Robertson head screws in the US. Granted, they were in Buffalo, NY and Blaine, WA.

Adirondac made the Press Republican last week. I saved the article. They have finished stabilizing both the smelter and the McNaughton cottage as well as cleared the brush away from the 'steps' leading to where the bridge over to the top of the smelter was.
