I think this might be an abandoned defense line for the defense of Halifax if there ever was an enemy landing at St. Margarets bay. There was even a US war plan approved in the 1930's to land there.


"The plan considers several land and sea options for the attack and concludes that a landing at St. Margarets Bay, a then undeveloped bay near Halifax, would be superior to a direct assault via the longer overland route."




the hole running along the floor seems to be a search light/gun track. So, you might be onto something.

When your at the pond go across the small wood bridge follow the path and the sign should still be up.
