is the whole facility accessible?

Pretty much. I don't want to give away a whole lot of details, I will post some recent pictures in a week or so. That way you and the other people attending can have good idea on what to expect.

A call to anybody who lives in Tucson, if you've got any locations you would like to add to this event, please feel free to PM me or post them here. I think it would make it a better event if we had another location or two to fill up the whole day. Also, I am working to secure a group rate a one of the hotels in north Tucson, if everybody can stay near the same place we can go out Saturday night and have some drinks, get to know each other better.

I'll work with my guys and see if we can come up with anything neat to see outside of silos. Honestly, outside of drains, we drive to phoenix to see anything interesting.

There is an abandoned mini-golf course over on the east side iirc. I haven't been but I think cheddar might have. If there's any interest in that I'll con the guys to go recon that with me.

I know of a certain hotel, thats off a certain freeway. Im going either way. I must go make photographic loves to its awesome pool.

I also know of tunnels that are full of graffiti if that tickles your fancy.

I plan on arriving early Saturday morning, staying sat and sun night, and leaving Monday afternoon.

Are we going to need an SUV for this excursion ?

A few of my friends are hopefully coming with me, We plan to visit the titan museum and the pima air&space (havent been there in years) and possibly Bioshphere2 just to keep them busy. Plus chilling poolside and drinking one of the afternoons for a few hours.

Great ideas, I've wanted to check out that hotel for awhile. I've never heard of the mini golf course so that should be fun.

No SUV needed. It's not a 4x4 kind of trip.

the titan museum and the air&space museum are pretty sweet too. Not much has changed, the P.A.S.M. does have a SR-71 Blackbird though. That's worth the trip alone. I will probably tag along with you guys if time permits and I'm always down to have a few drinks.

1. The golf course on Speedway... they have started taking the place down. Don't know much of what's left, but the Tiki head is gone.

2a. Per an email from PASM, they are supposed to roll out their B-36 this weekend.

2b. One thing I find weird about PASM, with regards to the SR-71. They have a D-21 in the reclamation section, just sitting in the sun. I am not quite sure why they just dont paint that sucker black and put it on in the hangar with the Blackbird. I doubt refurbishing the drone would take very long compared to the B-36. haha

2c. Don't forget the PASM and the Titan museum are not free.

3. See y'all at the silo social.

Ok folks, I checked out the site yesterday and everything is good to go. I posted more information on the event page and here are the pictures I promised.

Does anybody have plug in flood lamps they can bring? I have an inverter built into the bed of my truck, so we could run an extension cord(or 3) into the control area and have a good reliable light source.

Cheddar has some 12" hand held florescent lights, they worked pretty good. They light a large area and you can just hold them by your side without having to point it where your looking.
