| | | Honestly I read somewhere that the people that carry guns are more likely to either shoot themselves or get the gun taken away and then shot with their own gun. Why bother carrying a gun in the first place. I get you feel protected and maybe "badass" but when it comes down to it, will you pull the trigger and end someone's life? My bet is no. I wouldnt do it either. You have to live with that decision for the rest of your life. Which is why I dont play with guns. If I want to shoot something I turn the old xbox on. I am going to stop before I end up on a soapbox.

Would I pull the trigger if in a situation that I had to use deadly force? 100%!!! Would it be something to be proud of? Not at all, would I like to take a life? I hope that never happens. There is the slim possibility that at some point there could be a do or die situation, there again, I hope not. I grew up with firearms in every room of the house, began shooting at the age of 3, that was 35 years ago. Do I feel bad ass? Not at all, most people I run into whether on the street or anywhere else WOULDN'T know I was packing. I don't pack to feel "badass" that has never been my intent nor will it ever be my intent. I pack because I can do it legally, and there is that 2nd Amendment Right. That being said, I am under no circumstance trying to piss anyone off or the likewise, these are my beliefs and my rights, what is right to some may not be right to others.

| | | if you just learn some self defense you should be fine ( i live in a small town so guns arent that common) I take Krav Maga. It this Israeli self defense system used by the army, teaches street defense (no katas). For example if someone pulls a knife or sticks a gun to your head, or even hand to hand like chocking. Ive ran into a gang hideout once, fortunately they went out to get more beer from a nearby LCBO (there was a brand new empty case of Heineken). a bit of advice: with knives, distance is your friend, with guns, distance is your enemy. I am pun-dan status in Jungyea Moosul, which is a Korean at form. I enjoy the arts, it is a part of my everyday life. The problem with that is if you come across 2 or more people that could be the problem. As stated before I hope and pray that using a firearm, or any other object to defend myself never happens. I am very much into life not taking nor hurting one, but if it was a do or die, I know what choice I would make.

| | | No gangs...yet. Which is weird because each of the buildings I've been in are on the south side of Chicago. But I did come across a tagger who didn't know I was there, but I knew he was, and when he came down that hallway and around the corner...that was the greatest face ever. I was looking at my screen while taking a photo down a hallway and someone walked by the other side without noticing me. I, at first, thought it was a guard or something and kinda panicked for a second. But then the guy went by again (I noticed he was a tagger), still without noticing I was there, so I decided to hide around the corner. I heard him walking closer, and I think it took him about 5 seconds to realize I wasn't gonna do anything and he could calm down. I couldn't help but smile. So did he.

| | | I've never been to somewhere with a gang inside, but on the way out I came across several teenage males who loudly offered me marijuana, and proceeded to throw beer bottles at me as I approached. They couldn't aim worth shit though, and I laughed at them and walked away.

well if you've gone to a class you'll notice they do alot of practice with multiple attackers as well as only one. For example you stand in a circle with training knives and gun lying around and people will just attack you with weapons or hand to hand.

While yes this is true, in a situation of multiple people, hand to hand can be detramental and/or fatal. Though we do practice multi-attacker scenerios it is extremely difficult to be able to watch more than one person. Think about that situation even while training, how many times did you feel that rubber knife touch you??? It only takes once. Also think about the situation, you don't actually have angry people that truly want to hurt you while you are at a training session. I feel good about any skills I may or may not have, I legally pack firearms because I can. It may not be right for some, for myself it is perfectly fine. I enjoy knowing I have the added security. Back on topic.

You are correct. Trespassing is normally a second degree misdemeanor, but if there’s a human being in the structure or conveyance (even if you don’t know that) it becomes a first degree misdemeanor, and if you happen to be armed with a firearm or other weapon during the trespass – it’s called an “armed trespass” and becomes a third degree felony, with or without a license.

Im sure there are several people on this site that have grown up around guns, myself included. I agree and applaud your use of the 2nd Amendment. I will not carry a firearm when exploring just because I dont want to lose it. I will admit after 10 years in the military that I am no badass. Guns are expensive, and I am a bit clumsy and would most likely drop it down a hole, or just plain lose it on an explore. That being said I do like guns and have started a small collection.
