Blackhawk was just trying to make a point: that B&E is a felony, and that felonies can seriously fuck up your life, and I think we can all agree he was right in saying this. And Chronos, if you were aware that if you were caught it could be the end of your dreams, why did you do it? I know you were with people you knew and you were cautious, but still I would never risk my chances of going to college and my future career over UE. UE is a hobby.

Myself, I'd never do something more than a misdemeanor; in Virginia Tresspassing is a Class I Misdemeanor, which could land you a year in jail, but at the same time it's only considered Tresspassing if there is a cleary posted "No Tresspassing" sign, so drains are fine. True you'd go to court, but the case could be won. And the above-ground places I explore have no signs, nor do they require breaking to get into (I do admit to once kicking a board in to get into a small power plant, but that was it and there'd be no proof that I did it).

Just my $0.02

You can't fall off a mountain.

WHat are you some sort of judge jury and executioner? Typical UER judgemental bullshit. I thought this forum was about exploring.
I'm going to start a forum where you rape kill pillage and burn and no one says shit.
And if they do I'm going to shout them down as a pussy.

To answer your question Dukes:
I am someone who is expressing an opinion. (assuming that is still allowed).

I am also someone whose father worked with HVAC (sheet metal work) and whose brother is an HVAC technician by trade. My brother has told me about some of the sh*t he has seen where people who had f***ed with the equipment created hazardous conditions for the technicians who have to do the repairs (ie incorrectly connected wiring and damaged piping).

And yes, I thought this forum is about exploring too. Expressing an opinion about "Entering through the AC" does talk about an aspect of exploring. And I thought this forum is not about insulting people who express opinions that you don't agree with.

When I summed up my post by saying "Entering through the A/C is a very bad idea!" I was expressing an opinion. Would it help if we adopted lawyer speak every time we express an opinion? Here goes:

"I, rainman8889, am of the opinion that Entering through the A/C is a very bad idea!"

As for the forum you mentioned, I rainman8889 am of the opinion that you were joking! (I hope)

And thank you Urbandruid for the clarification.

I didn't think this was required, but have you ever heard the term "facetious"?

And thank you Urbandruid for the clarification.

Rain, have you ever heard the term "facetious" before?

2. Characterized by wit and pleasantry; exciting laughter; as, a facetious story or reply.

WordNet Dictionary
Adj. 1. facetious - cleverly amusing in tone; "a bantering tone"; "facetious remarks"; "tongue-in-cheek advice"
Synonyms: bantering, tongue-in-cheek

Related Words
Attic, biting, blithe, brilliant, comic, comical, humorsome, jesting, jocose, jocund, joking, joky, jolly, joshing, jovial, keen, keen-witted, laughable, ludicrous, merry, mordant, nimble-witted, pointed, pungent, quick-witted, rapier-like, salt, salty, scintillating, sharp, smart, sparkling, sprightly, whimsical...

Please Rainman8889 don't encourage 'Dukes. This kind of jocular bantering can destroy the integrity of a thread. Please be careful! That said, I retract all I have said in this thread. I know nothing!

I still think main point of controversy has be come b&e vs. trespassing. HVAC systems can be dangerous, but would this issue still be as heated if the building in question had been an abandonment?

Well I don't know about that, but the building would have been cooler if the HVAC was online.

Good question. Probably not but entering through the AC is still a bad idea. Especially if the front door was left wide open!

Definitely Blackhawk! And if the HVAC is offline, you would have to wait until winter for the building to be cooler!
