I belong to the family that owns the Round Room. It is far from abandoned. The owner lives next door and it is mostly used for storage. We have been having problems with people trespassing, vandalizing and stealing. We caught four teens there last week and they were warned. The next person to be caught will be prosecuted. A security system is being installed. Please return the letters and stay away. Thank you.

This is one of the best things I've seen on here. Classic. Give them credit, at least they are warning you and giving you a chance to return the stuff you stole. If they are still reading this, maybe they can fill us in on the history?
To "The Owner" - please understand that vandalism and theft are not condoned on this site, most of us are just interested in the past and love to observe the beauty of time preserved. Good luck on keeping that place intact.

Actually, I'm the owner of the round house. And I've installed a minefield around the perimeter of the property, as well as gun turrets, razor wire, a hive of killer bees and a guard dog that is trained to nip at your heels as you try to escape.
EDIT: ...and there's a secret tunnel that leads directly from my back garden here in Victoria all the way to the center of the house, so I can pop in any time to inspect the place.

Three charged in break-in
FERGUS – Three people face charges after the owners of a building interrupted a break-in on Sept. 14 at about 6:25pm.
OPP Constable Mark Cloes said county OPP officers responded to a call from an alarm company to a building on Old Orangeville Road at the east edge of town. Cloes said the officers were told the key holders and owners were going to the property as well.
The investigation revealed three persons, one female and two males, had forced open a rear door to the building and activated the alarm system. Cloes said they were inside the building when the owner, David McKeown, 50, and his father, Donal, 77, went to check the alarm. Cloes said the three suspects fled when they spotted the owner, and Donal McKeown was pushed to the ground by one of the suspects as he fled. Donal McKeown sustained minor injuries.
Police arrived as the three were fleeing, and two suspects were apprehended on the property. A third was arrested a short while later with the help of the county OPP K9 Unit and other officers on Queen Street East in Fergus.
Dustin James Riede, 24, of Elora, is charged with break and enter and assault. Thomas Robert Stephens, 19, of Fergus, is charged with break and enter and failure to comply with undertaking. The third accused, a 17-year-old Centre Wellington girl, faces charges of break and enter, and failure to comply with undertaking under the Criminal Code of Canada. All three were held in custody and scheduled to attend Guelph court on Sept. 15 for a bail hearing.
