How low can you go?

I found a utility tunnel a while back, but it was pretty tiny. It was only about four feet wide and 2.5 feet tall. Steam pipes clogged this area even more. I was pretty sure it led to a huge system, but I couldn't make it through the dust and dark and heat in one try. Has anybody ever been in a similar situation? What was the smallest tunnel you've been in?

Those doors stay closed...staring...waiting...plotting. I must find out their secrets.

It was a long time ago, but in a natural cave I found a tunnel that was never more then 3 feet wide and 3 feet tall the whole way, and maybe, very roughly, like 50 feet long. Well worth the effort though, it led into a whole system of interesting spaces.

The entrance to Fort Ruckman north of Boston is a VERY tight squeeze, but not a tunnel, just a whole through about a foot of concrete.

In very tight tunnels that are clean on the ground? I use a skate board as a creeper. Just push with my toes.

The question is not when are we gonna stop, It's who's gonna stop us?

I crawled through a 2 foot diameter corrugated section of drain before, because there was a light at the end of the tunnel. All i found was goose shit and a dead raccoon though...

Stick big ass offroader wheels on em and you can deal with unclean tunnels to. Tie a thin piece of climbing cord to it and you can help the next person by pulling them through. Versatile piece of drainer hardware!

Thats isn't bad, i was was up at Buchan, Vic Australia, we were caving with a large group, 3 of us went off by ourselves, there was a small tunnel with water in it, i went through with the side of my face in the water. it went up then down to a dead end 3 meter after i got through. The others guys asked me if there was anything to see, i said yes, they came through, while they were looking i went out again.

They said there was nothing there, my reply was 'you thing i'm the only one who is getting soaking wet'

I went draining once, but the tunnel got around 3 feet diameter. I don't like being in something underground where I dont have sufficient space to move around and possibly run away from something. I ended up backing out and leaving.

when you go in to small tunnels or very small drains is oxygen ever a problem? how can you tell if your getting enough oxygen, because if your draining with a friend or two in any tunnel less then three feet wide and you or one of your friends pass out it would probably be really hard to get that person out of the drain, and if the person was behind you and the tunnel ended up leading to a dead and you really be screwed.
