Hey Tom you repeat yourself.

Hey Tom you say the same things over and over.

Hey Tom you tend to be a bit redundant.

Ya well you don't seem to be of quality character yourself. If you have nothing better to say don't say anything at all. I can see why you were booted from AVchat.

No offense to new people, but how do you full members feel about letting people who just created a new account to say "yes I wanna go, show me where" to come along?

Theft and vandalism has been a big problem and we don't know if people who just made a new account a few days ago and posting as their first or the second post would go back to commit criminal defacement(bombing, tagging, street art as they call it) /steal/vandalize later. Thanks to vandals, that TV in flour mill was destroyed and there was a n00b here who bragged about stealing things from there.

The reason location database is restricted is to prevent just this. I want to keep the cool exploration sites protected from criminal trespassers(aka spray paint vandals, smash-everything vandals, vagrants, etc).

At the meet we have so many questionable people coming we are probably not going to do any exploring I was going to take everyone to sand point which was scheduled for demo anyway but they already tore it down. Its basically just to meet people and talk about the general hobbie. I am a full member and I have not shown anyone else the locations that I know about and I plan to keep it that way for the reasons Deuterium mentioned. And yes I have been to the mill and saw the sorrowful sight of the smashed television in the office that junix respectfully retrieved from where someone had thrown it off the roof. Someone recently through a board off the roof and it punctured a hole in one of the lower roofs sadly this may cause yet more water damage.. I dont want create a feud between us El_ Gordo_uno but your previous remark startled me a bit you must have expected me to retaliate in some way. I reallize that I have a problem of occasionaly repeating myself and I have done so all my life I don't think I will ever be able to change. Just because I am different does not mean I am a fool. All I ask is that you treat me with respect and I will treat you with the same courtesy. Are you and I going to be ok?

Just to toss in my two cents, here; as a new and unproven member, myself. I'd be extremely suspicious of me; were I a full member. There's no proof whatsoever, as of yet, that I'm not a tagger or a vandal or some other flavor of stupid ass.

Insofar as using profile names in person; I'm gonna be at the meet and I intend to call all of you by yer nom de plumes. And I'm gonna scream them. Like Slayer would.

It occurs to me that I should have said "noms de plume" above. I mangle language.

I totally agree with you on that. Stealing is completely wrong, but according to Ninj's book, some tagging can be helpful in sewers and similar places for navigation. Also, my parents dont approve of me going to Seattle because they found Ninj's book hidden underneath my stereo. They completely disagree with UE, and wont help me in any way to become more active in it. But I will make it to the meet, I'll just have to take an express bus to Seattle. See you all there.

Join the club we meet well err.. the 14th of april. Its not uncommon to have family members disagree with the hobby if you think about it, its completely justified. How would you like it if you got calls from the police about your son getting caught trespassing. Best thing you can do is not bring it up anymore and they will forgett about it altogether. I personally would not spray paint a building in any way. If someone gets lost in a building they can just look for the fire exit signs. They always point to stairs if your above the first floor.

Who the heck is this 'Ninj' I keep hearing about from Nikkoli714? Never heard of this person, nor the book or reference of "how" to UE or explore the correct way.

Everything you need to know is all on this website that we built together as a community. Plus UER does have ground rules that most all of us follow. If we don't then why go in the first place. It ruins it for the others.

I won't tolerate tagging, bombing (no matter how minor), stealing, ransacking, abusing, breaking, and any other form of disrespect towards the location.

Follow the rules and you'll be safe. Show the pics to this forum and you really will make friends quickly.

I'm excited about coming. Been looking forward to it for a couple of months now since I met TomUE. Now I finally get to meet the rest of you.

Honestly, I was pretty interested in a meet--and while I understand your reservations of UEing with non-Full Members--I lost any interest when you said the meet really consisted of getting coffee and chatting. Especially when I hate parking downtown.

Hello guys, I just signed up for the forums and saw this topic. I live near Seattle up north, and though I have never really done any serious exploring, I would like to learn more about it. I didn't figure there would be people in my area into this, but here you are.

Alright. So, I can understand why you don't want random people coming with and don't want to reveal your locations to those you don't know. So, if you're actually doing any exploring on this meet, I won't ask to be invited or what have you. But if you are just going to get together and "hang out" or whatever, since there are questionable people coming like you said, I might like to meet some of you people.

So, what's the deal? Don't be afraid to tell me to **** off either, I can take it.

"See you guys, you never listen to me. I said there was gonna be trouble but you didn't listen to me. You guys are crazy. You know, you guys are self destructive. There's a funny farm and it has your names written all over it. But I'm gettin' out of here. I'm... I smell ice cream!"

'Ninj' is a shortened form of Ninjalicious. The author of Access All Areas: A User's Guide To The Art Of Urban Exploration. You can find out more about him at http://en.wikipedi.../wiki/Ninjalicious.

Oh, and as for you, LuminousAphid, we're all welcome to show up at the Seattle meet. There most likely wont be any UE'ing going on, I believe. If there is any, there will probably be reservations about those who are not yet full members exploring with them. This is not likely though, as the group will probably be too large to explore with. If anything, we'd split into groups. Showing up at the meet and getting to know fellow explorers is the path to full membership... and enlightenment. ^^

Haha thanks, Nikkoli714.

I PM'd TomUE about it, and that's exactly what he said. I'm probably not ready to do any exploring anyway; never done anything more than a decrepit house out in the country, so I'm gonna need to ease into this. Meeting some of the people on here should be good, though, as I hardly ever really know who I'm talking to on the internet... you know?

Aahaha. I might or might not make it, i'm extremely antisocial and kind of shy . i hope i can get the courage.

p.s wouldnt be kind of hard to explore anyways if tehres a mass of like 20 people going? people might mistake us for a tour group and start following us hahha

That might be a good idea, Impulse. We could pose as a tour group if need be. Lol.

LuminousAphid, I've never done any real UE, either. I'm just going to try to be ready for anything, though. I would strongly recommend reading the book written by Ninjalicious called "Access All Areas: A User's Guide to the Art of Urban Exploration". You can order a copy at your local Borders for only $20. Mine took about 6 days to arrive.

I look forward to meeting all of you there. ^^

I ordered the book Sunday, and it should hopefully get here by Friday. I'm hoping it will at least inspire me to be sure I want to get into UE, although I'm pretty sure I do.
