Aahaha. I might or might not make it, i'm extremely antisocial and kind of shy . i hope i can get the courage.

p.s wouldnt be kind of hard to explore anyways if tehres a mass of like 20 people going? people might mistake us for a tour group and start following us hahha

You should come, I'm looking forward to it and I'm usually not that outgoing either. I'm pretty sure the word is that no one is exploring, just meeting down there. I'm not expecting anything, anyway, as no one knows me, so I wouldn't blame them for not trusting me. Although, the tour group might not be a bad idea... *wink*

(Sorry for double post)

I'm really looking forward to this. I've got to catch buses to and from Seattle though, which sucks.. I'll probably be going with my friend, bibliotheque. She might catch the bus with me. Then I wont be so lonely, lol. =D

What really sucks is that my plans just changed and I won't be up there until the weekend after!

However... Anyone who wants to meet up the next weekend can PM me and we can arrange a time to meet and UE some stuff. I'll be in the Snohomish/Everett area, FYI.

Yeah, as such things go; I've all the social acuity of a lobotomized bonobo, and I'm still gonna show up. Even if y'all do have socialization concerns while there, rest assured that I'll make you look terrific by comparison.

I've been wondering around Seattle since moving here.

I don't really like the internet, but I would love to meet up with some of you.

Perhaps show you where Ive been hiding.

Ya, theres so many people coming that it would be near impossible to get the whole group anywhere. I was thinking about sending out special invitations to people I know personally for an excursion afterward but now since there are so many and since I will not be able to access a computer from now until the 13th of april (one day before the meet) I don't think I would be able to organize it.. Glad there are so many people interested!!!
-Tom

Also if the starbucks is not big enough for all of us we may want to move meet locations... If anyone has any ideas for an emergency meet spot I'm all ears.
I might be able to check this forum once or twice between now and the meet..

If all else fails, we can just move across the street into the square... I've never been to that starbucks, so I have no idea how big (or small) it is. But that would only be weather permitting.

By the way, look at Smith Tower on google maps and the building just north of it at the same time. It's like an Escher print.

Wow, it's neat that everyone's coming out of the woodwork for this. My friend will be a bit disappointed that there will be no group UE but we'll probably check out the flour mill once I figure out where it is, sounds like with the weather this will be a great weekend!

never know until you go

As an alternative meeting spot, we may consider the observation deck at Smith Tower. They call it the Chinese room. I think it may be big enough and it is usually not full of people, unless theres an event.

I don't recommend meeting in the Pioneer Square itself. That's where the tour for the Underground meets. Some 'others' may join us and learn stuff they're not supposed to and waste their money.

Another good place to meet is in the Seattle Train depot. Everyone knows where that is. Or in front of the new Seattle Stadium (warehouse dist...).

There's plenty of places to meet and all within walking distance from locations. Parking is easy down there too, if you know where to park for free (or cheap).

Ya, the starbucks has only room for maybe a small crowd of 10-12 (with a path to the bathrooms). So it's like fitting a group into your kitchen at home.

TomUE PM'd me and asked that I help with the meet, but I won't be there. But if anyone does have any questions, or needs anything answered specifically, I can do just that.

Gah...I just got my work schedule that week...looks like I am going to be in Seattle on Sunday instead during the night for this one store, so I am out.

Oh, FYI, I suggest having the meet at King Street Station.

I wouldn't recommend King Street Station. It seems that they don't like people just hanging out there. I've gone with some people to look around...And Amtrack people approached us.

Tell 'em you're a bunch of foreign exchange students waiting for the home to pick you up.

The stadium is a good spot tho, if there are no games that day. (or at the old one)

Lol, how long will the me meet be? I've freed up that entire day, but I'm just wondering what time I'll be heading out so I can plan my bus trip. Also, is it likely that anyone will be willing to UE with a freakin new guy who is inexperienced like me? Its cool if not, I understand.

ok I was able to check the forums today I think I will just count how many are coming and how many arrived and when we have everyone we can move somewhere close like the smith tower or something I will tell the cashier where we are if anyone asks. Ya sorry about the group UE thing but it probably would not pan out too well with the size of the group.

I would be willing to go with you seeing as I'm new too, but unfortunately I don't really know of any good locations... I want to go back to the flour mill during the day to take some pictures, but I'm not planning on driving down there on the weekend because of parking and am taking a bus instead, so that puts a damper on that plan. Sorry, but looks like this is just gonna be a social get-together. It'll be fun, though.
