| | | We did our first and only exploring so far last summer. I took photos but hadn't really had time or motivation to show them to many people. We have since moved far away from this region (from Connecticut to North Carolina). I'm glad I got a chance to photograph it. Finally got around to making a simple and ugly website. The place is called Pleasure Beach. Near Stratford/Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA. http://ui3.info/d/gallery/pleasureBeach/

| | | Nice gallery. That "surveillance camera" sign looks pretty new! I imagine that its a lie. I also don't remember any of those roll-down window covers or doors being open as in #24 and #26! Thanks for such through documentation. You didn't make it into the Polkadot Playhouse, eh? That's my favorite part! There are some really "stunning" night shots of this place here: http://www.uer.ca/...d=1&threadid=25350 And I have my own shots at: http://www.pbase.c...cet/pleasure_beach

| | | Yeah, there were people in some of these places when we walked through. I presumed spending the day or weekend in their cottage. They seemed friendly towards us. But the vast majority of these buildings were boarded up and in disrepair.
I'm sure this has been beaten to death and I know there are reasons. But it's unfortunate that I can't view the above link even as a Basic member.

Thank you very much, I appreciate that.
I knew we missed some very important things there and wanted to go back before we moved. Do you have any pictures of the playhouse? It's unlikely that I'll ever return to CT, we have no family or remaining friends there. Terrific gallery, thanks!

Unfortunately no, only a small "souvenir" from my young and irresponsible days. I didn't have a tripod and it was pretty dark inside. There were still a lot of props and costumes and such... The light/sound control room was especially cool. Maybe someone else on here has pictures?

| | | I spent some time tonight with the lovely and enigmatic Mrs. dmorelli going over her photos from our visits to this site. These have been added. Some new things and certainly some better shots. Same url: http://ui3.info/d/gallery/pleasureBeach/
