Exactly. When I go exploring with people of age, if there's any sign of trouble, I'll split and make for an entirely different part of the building. There are so many different views and sides to this issue that it's far too overwhelming for me to even get started. I respect everyone's opinion, and if you don't want to explore with me, I won't be offended because everyone has a right to choose their company.

Well you seem more mature that most 14 year olds so I doubt that anyone would have a problem exploring with you. Especially most of the guys. ;).
I figured out what's wrong with life: It's other people. |

a) I doubt it, b) I should hope that's not the reason why certain people explore with me and c) Hush you! ;)

| | | Nothing personal but unless it's my kid (I have none), or an A+ safe/legal site minors represent an unwelcomed liability. Many under 25 are too immature and/ or lacking real world knowledge for dependable back up. I was a kid once, I don't go back to that playground till I die.
Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in. |

| | | After reading half of the posts, i read pages 1,2,7,8. I have come to look at Ue from the legal side considering it is what makes up our society. The law really shouldn't say who we Ue with for legal reason but it does. As UEer's we sadly break enough laws. And i don't see the point of giving the law enforcement another chance to charge us. As a result i think there should be a line drawn, and that is: - If your under 18, Ue with other people under 18..there lots of them out there. You should not risk the "adult" accompanying you - If your 18 or over, Ue with people 18 or over.. why risk being charge over an minors actions. Its not worth it...also your going to probably only going to have to wait 2 years anyways till there 18+.
Its Sad but ture, The legal line is the final on this subject in my mind. [last edit 5/28/2006 1:33 PM by BeaverBanker - edited 1 times]

| | | My first planned UE expedition was with a minor (i think she was 17). i made sure to engineer our route to not cross any "no tresspassing" signs (plausible deniability, eh?). also, my wife and my parents came along. it was a carefree stroll along an abandoned aqueduct. I probably wouldn't invite the minor if I were to arrange the same trip again, just for the legal reasons. The legal reasons are huge, guys. Seriously.

| | | Even as a minor (16), I fully understand and assess the risks of UE. I only work with other minors of around the same age, and we tend to explore in pairs. I believe that age is not an issue as much as maturity is. I've seen people in their 20's running around shouting their heads off in medium-high security areas; I've seen people of my own age using UE locations to get drunk and/or high. It really depends on the person. Common sense also has a lot to do with it. I understand the implications for legal adults caught with minors in these situations; therefore, I would not accompany anyone on/over 18. I also realize that many of my age group are responsible for the vandalism and destruction of sites. I just ask that you accept my apology on their behalf and realize that not all of us teens are bad or disrespectful explorers. -Captain.
