Next meetup, I think we can all pile into my car (And another car if that many people show), and head down to the old zoo.

It's no terribly big, but it's kinda fun. Graffiti and bees.

Since I have to go to the airport on Wednesday, I'll probably be doing a drive-by of a supposedly abandoned school gym/locker/recreational area, and see if that's viable. There's also an abandoned racetrack not far from the airport, but I don't think I'll have time to drive by it.

So, are we meeting at the Round Rock library again, or heading back to Opal's? Either work for me.

I've gone by the airport twice, and there are abandoned buildings out there. Unfortunately, there's also an active trailer park-thing to contend with.

Yeah, but Round Rock IS easier for a lot of people. Plus, I know about another abandoned house up there, and we can always drive someplace else.

Okay, I waited until 2 at the library. Nobody else showed, and I was sick of listening to screaming kids.

Something needs to be done about the meets, because nobody can actually seem to figure out where the hell we are. Opal's? The library? Nobody knows.

Personally, I think someone that's actually active needs to take over the Austin events page, because I haven't seen Super in ages.

Then we can figure out a more accessible location for all of us, because right now, this is a godawful mess, and a waste of time and petrol.

If anyone's up to go out next Saturday, PM me. I get off work at 1:30.

I was actually getting ready to leave for another state, so I wasn't able to make it. I will be back early Feb. But I agree with the meetup, time for a facelift.

I'd be happy to meet up somewhere but it would have to be somewhere the bus goes. CapMetro doesn't serve Round Rock so there was no way for me to get up there anyway. But I'm sure there are some interesting places throughout the rest of the area.

Maybe northern downtown? Somewhere in the range of UT, maybe. Or we could alternate months - one month Round Rock, one month downtown.

Sounds alright to me. I'm sure there's something worth checking out in the downtown area. There's quite a few things here and there from what I've seen so far.

seems to me like most of the stuff downtown is sealed super tight if not torn down within months of being discovered so it might be hard to do without some B&E...not to mention theres always people or cops around downtown....gotta head to the outskirts of Austin really cuz it all either gets torn down or renovated instantly here it seems like...all the locations I have found or been to since I moved here last summer (besides tunnels) are now in the process of being torn down or soon to be torn down. Actually even some of the tunnels I've been in are now under construction too! I'm always willing to drive some people for carpooling to locations btw if I can make it but it's been pretty hard to make the meetups for me lately cuz of work. But I was also wanting to see if anyone was down for a Holly trip if it's still accessible before it goes so hit me up if anyone wants to go

I'd like to hit up Holly, if it's still possible.

And urbexinc brought up the possibility of a San Antonio daytrip. I'd be up for doing it during this month's meet, since there seem to be a LOT of good locations out there.

I'd be willing to drive, but we'd probably also want to meet earlier in the day, due to drive-time.

Looks like Austin area activity is at a minimum, I am still here though, just very busy unfortunately.

Maybe plan some sort of Austin UE reunion.. lol.

I'll be waiting at Opal's this month (As long as they don't screw up my schedule for that day), but it IS going to be the last (I think) day of SXSW, so traffic - and probably parking - will be nightmarish.

But I should be there. For any newbies to the group, we generally sit out on the porch, rain or shine.

Lol, I spotted burnt bulb at a Sandy's Burger shack thing, near SXSW Screenburn this weekend. So confirmed for him being alive.

Even though I have not been able to attend an Austin exploration, this past weekend I was in Fort Worth and got to go to Echo Lake Incinerator (http://www.car.avb...d=50946&currpage=1). It was very cool!

I found out about the place from a model I was trying to schedule a photo shoot with. While there I also ran into 3 other uer members. I will post some pics of both the location and the shoot when I get them processed.

Good to go on Saturday. Might be late, depending on traffic, and if I can park behind Opal's or not.

For those new this month, I'll be wearing a Sea Shepherd shirt and a waist-mounted bag for my camera, with a collapsible tripod and possibly my respirator attached.

I'd really like to hit the old cement plant again, so show up if you can!

One other person showed up, and I for the life of me, I can't remember his name. We didn't do much, though, due to heavy crowds and lousy traffic.
