Yes, I collect a lot of stuff, but I leave it in place where I found it. You may have seen part of my collection...

Don't you know about his "pay-per-like" program? He pays a buck for each like. I just follow him around and like all his posts. I'm getting ready to buy a new camera with all the money I've made. It's a multilevel program so I can sign you up. There's a small fee for your starter kit, and as your upstream explorer I get a percentage of your total click revenue. But you can sign up others below you and make lots more money. Just PM me and I'll get you all set up. I even take PayPal. Abby Normal

Hahahahahahaha, a buck? Let me tell you about how much I make from Av's web-surfing program on the FAQ board here... I've been at it for almost a decade and I've almost made back my start-up fee!

I've picked up and carried stuff around during an explore with the intent of taking it home, but always tossed it aside when leaving. A more creative person could think of a way to display things to make them interesting. With me, it'd just end up in a drawer somewhere and become more clutter.

No but so many do and it is hard to bash the logic. If its gonna get tossed in the trash what does it matter. That said I find it to be tacky to do so.

Pocket knives and bic lighters, probably have a few dozen of each that I've found in old houses. Always come in handy, especially when I have a bad habit of forgetting my own!

Been tempted when I come across old cars especially license plates but feel better leaving everything in tact for the next guy. Although got a pretty sweet coke sign from a building being demolished would have gone in the trash . Took it home cleaned it up and put a new light in it now it sits over the bar.

I was in a building just recently that had tons of useful tools and equipment. I didn't take a thing but the temptation to back in a truck and have all those tools in my garage is there. When I looked it over I couldn't believe all that great stuff was left behind. MP, I think you should rescue that truck if it is abandoned. That beauty shouldn't have to rot.

I really wanted to but figured I would leave it intact. Its in a fairly remote region in the kootenays and im fairly certain we were the first ones there in a while if not the people before us also only took photos .

I have all kinds of cool stuff but these are my favorites. Better it be at my house to be appreciated than left to get torn up for scrap.

I was avoiding this story, but I guess I'll let it go. I went up with a buddy of mine to check out a park that no one has posted (publicly) here yet, and we weren't hoping for anything fantastic...we thought it was just the sign left up. We were wrong. All the original buildings, concessions, ticket offices...everything was intact. It was fantastic! No "no trespassing" signs, no fences. We saw some guys dismantling a building, and we went and talked with them, got some history, asked if we could walk around....blah blah blah...I never felt more okay with being on a property. I found a few items: old brochures they used to hand out, ticket stubs, and an old parking lot sign that had been thrown away. I snatched them, thinking, "these won't last, and they were free to begin with". Yep.. The one time I had actually picked anything up on a site. We walked out, gracious for the experience, and walked back to the car. It didn't take five minutes to see the red and blue lights. This wasn't just a cop....it was five squad cars, AND TWO HELICOPTERS. Absolutely ridiculous. They detained us for two hours, got our information, and contacted the owner to ask if he'd like to press charges. Thankfully he said no, because otherwise we would be facing felony grand larceny. They escorted us back onto the property, told us to dump our findings and go. I thought they were bluffing at first...just trying to scare us out. Looks like it held up. I have not since touched or thought about taking anything ever again. It's more than covering our asses, though. Some of these items I have seen on this thread make for good shots, and take away if they aren't there.. I guess it's an individual ethics idea, but I've been scared straight.

I call bullshit, two helicopters really.

I asked a property owner once if I could have an old glass door. They told me a preservation society is going in and taking out everything. Who knows, scrappers may of got it. So long story short...No.

My friends and I have explored this one hotel many times/ just hung out in it, and one day we noticed they had started hauling away the abandoned cars away (they were all completely trashed and everything). I talked with the children of the property owners and they said that the cars were just being hauled to a scrapyard, so I took the spoiler off the late 90s mustang, with the intention of wiring it up and setting it up as a light in my room at my parents house. But I moved out and my brother stupidly pulled out the cable so now it's just sitting in their garage.
