Oh, I was talking to Samurai. My bad :p
Won't you help me, Mr. Jesus, Won't you tell me, if you can When you see this world we live in, Do you still believe in man? | |
Made some phone calls on my down time. The GLHS is gone. Crusher bait. One family owned, 65000 miles, simply parked since 1996, crushed for $400 to make room in the shed. Sigh. Sorry hoss. It was there less than a year ago. Apparently the grandson kept begging for room to work on his 240SX and grandpa just decided to get rid of it because the cousin or some shit never would pick it up. Hell if I knew that shit was going on I would have snatched it up. Far as I know nothing wrong with it, simply got parked. Fuckin a.

Yeah fuck that kid and fuck his nissan. He crushed a far better car, with far more factory horsepower, that isn't an ugly nissan everybody's seen 245362 of. Seriously. When's the last time you've seen a modified 240sx? Or better yet, how many times today have you seen one? You should write him a strong worded letter highlighting what a fucking poser he is, trying to act like a car guy but not understanding the significance of a numbered Shelby Car that they only made 500 of. Especially since the GLHS in pretty much any condition has almost doubled in value since his death, and even non running if it was rust free was probably worth more than the Pissan. Fucking moron. You could really drive the point home by drawing a penis on the cover of Fast and Furious Tokyo drift and including it. I believe you can find it at the thrift store for $1, or any trash pile for free, but it might have already been used as toilet paper. Either way, thank you for your time and phone calls. Speaking of douchebags who don't deserve the car they drive, the guy that caused my accident only got cited with failure to control, which is weird since he seemed deliberate in his control of the vehicle, and didn't get cited for hit and run, like he fucking should have. So fuck. At least his car is trashed, far more than mine was and his insurance rates will probably go up over this fiasco so that's something. Anyway the spirit came home yesterday. I don't technically own it at the moment, but since I'm buying it back, why make nationwide tow it twice? I'll be getting the salvage title wednesday. I'm getting $2500 minus $279 salvage value, and a $500 deductible I'll be getting back in a few weeks, which honestly is all I could ever hope to get. The car now has a dead battery, is leaking alot of oil possibly from the rear main seal, and coolant from the water pump region, but given the lack of funds and already astronomical amount of work I needed to put in anyway, and the fact it has no heat, no window motors, 4 doors that don't shut properly, grungy as fuck interior with many broken pieces, it's already got a rust hole and is bubbling more crazy fast, fuck it. I don't have the resources to keep up with this car's restoration demands, and I've known that even before the accident. The car possibly could have lasted a long time before the accident, or it could have broken down the next day. Who knows? That car's reliability is always a mystery. I'm gonna try to sell it whole with the spare transmission for $1,000. I don't think that's unreasonable, but I'm also seriously kicking around the idea of pulling the engine and trying to find a non running but clean tbi convertible (lebaron/shadow/600,) van, or station wagon to swap. Something really under the radar.

I agree Budda, my fucking heart sank when I heard it was gone. I had seen it a few times and always got the same, "I'll let ya know if we plan to get rid of it" story. Fucking shit man. It was a clean looking car and far as I know had no rust. Hell paint even looked good. Just fuck.

One of those cars that was just kinda forgotten, but stick some oil, gas, and a new HEP and it probably would have started.

Well everything worked out ok at the bank, and I conveniently have 2 days off. I'm leaving for Maryland sunday and will be driving back in this. I can't wait.

Nice! Is it a t2?

Yeah common block. Dyno'd at 332/375 HP/TQ. Here's the outrageously long list of mods and restoration work. If you're on the T-M forums, you might recognize this as Mario03SRT's old car. I saw this car about 5 years ago at a drag event called Turbopalooza, and have been in love with it since. Was originally a Cincinnati car too. Kinda cool that it's coming home.

Good score bud. No I'm on the other turbo Chrysler forum

Love it.

Well, I'm in Glen Burnie MD. The pictures were slightly misleading. The car looked like brand new in the photos. In person it looks like a 20 year old car with a bad maaco paint job. Somehow, and I fail to believe this, as does the seller, Maaco accidentally reinstalled the wrong driver door handle, because there were 2 daytonas or something there at the same time and they mixed it up. How do you even do that? But I have the original. It's missing the rear seat belts, the dome light isn't wired, nor are the fog lights. The computer calibration isn't quite right so it hits boost cut out if you more than half throttle. Oh, and 3 inch race exhaust. It sounds like a Freightliner, but really cool. Definitely gonna get a ticket though, so that's getting fixed asap. I have a box full of parts that belong on the car I can't wait to get sorted out

You should know pictures make everything look better. But seriously dude it's a 25 year old turbo dodge, it's going to need something lol.

The fuel cut could be a map problem? I'm assuming it's been changed to a three bar sensor

A couple of years ago, my friend, his wife and I drove to Watervliet NY (about a 2hr drive for us, one way) to look at a 92 or so Nissan 240SX. The pictures made the car look awesome. I mean, it looked great! So we pile in the Saturn and down we go... We found the place, and the first thought was, "it better get nicer as we get closer.' It didn't. The car was a flaming piece of shit. The p.s. 1/4 panel was stuffed in, doors rotten, one light was up... inside was a mishmash of Advance Auto addo-ons... you know checkered flags and dragons... we drove off without even meeting the kid. I honestly doubted the car would've made the trip home.

I pretty much X'd out any autotrader/craigslist ad that had any autozone gear whatsoever lol. Do you know how hard it is to find a 90s honda with factory taillights? I take one good look at that shit and immediately can't trust anything the guy says about the car, and would expect clutch/axle problems from attempted burnouts. You did the right thing.

Ooooooh those can get really expensive quickly.
hi i like cars | |
Yeah and I'm putting a timing belt in it and finishing up a few things the idiot never finished and hoping it runs.

that's why I walked away from that older 928 a couple of years ago... when someone like Bandi utters the phrase "...those can get really expensive quickly...", run away, flee!
