CL can get frustrating if you're a buyer too. My son's been calling people about Jeeps for the last two weeks and has only had one person return his call, and then not show up to show him the car.

Well... They painted my bumper that got scratched when they first painted the car, and tried buffing again at their other location in Waukegan. Got it back and got accused of fucking the paint up myself with detail spray (bullshit, I'm scared to death to do any sort of detail work on this car right now). Looked fine when I drove away, and for the next few days I resisted doing any sort of washing or cleaning to the exterior. Just like last time, their clusterfuck workmanship showed up after the first good rain storm. I appreciate that they were willing to keep trying but really, really wish they didn't. Just a reminder that this door should not have even been touched in the first place...
...for some reason, the roofline over the DRIVER DOOR (nowhere near where the original damage was) also looks like this, and looks like they went down to metal. Trunk lid looks better, but both rear-quarter panels have these buffer scuffs as well. I called my insurance agent directly, as I refuse to deal with this shop any further. He called around and I guess this stuff happens on a black car when they don't use a fresh out of the box buffer pad, and told me to expect a call from the body shop that night. They blew me off; I left a message for the agent, and got a call the next morning from the agent saying he had an "unhappy conversation" with the owner of the shop, and that I'm finally free to go wherever I please. I just hope they didn't fuck it up so bad that things needs to be resprayed.

That's a damn shame. That shop seems to be miserably bad at what they do.

And this is why I have ONE person I trust with paint. It's not me, but he's a bigger perfectionist than I am. Now that buffing job? WTF? I could have done better with a cheese grater and some 40 grit. Maybe some ocean water and wet sanding with the aforementioned 40 grit.

First off, detail spray wont hurt the paint unless its fresh and uncured. tell them they're stupid. And that is nothing that cant be polished out properly. Just get it to a proper detailer and send your insurance guy the invoice

Brought it to the new shop for their opinions. They want to re-spray both rear 1/4's (which includes roofline) due to lousy masking job/overspray, not to mention the area where the rear glass is slightly recessed (mini-flying buttress) has no clearcoat. Doors and decklid would be re-polished. State Farm seems to be taking care of everything smoothly, however I still need to take it back to the old shop so they can see it's fucked again, as they're the ones that will be eating it.

Car's back! They did a great job; actually took the doors and everything off and re-shot everything from the A-pillar back, and buffed the front to match. The real test, of course, will come after the next rainstorm. ETA:
