Not abandoned, but there's a white Lotus Esprit (late 80s-early 90s) at a local auto repair shop that hasn't moved in a number of months. It's not in very good shape inside, but the outside is okay.

Please post photos.

How about some Porsches?

http://i104.photob...shots/25078298.jpg

A 914, an early 4 bolt 924, a '77 911, and three more 914s. The 911 looks like it had been repainted and then left to rot... not a scratch on it, but the paint is bubbling up and peeling off of the primer in spots. Also had tires that look like they've never been driven on, but they're all cracked to hell.

Sorry about the crappy phone pic.

i was never a fan of 914, but that 924 would make an awesome home for an LS1/LS2/LS6 and the 911 is just classic. It was dead sexy.

The only issue with that, is the only thing the 924 really had going for it was being lightweight and having nearly perfect 50/50 balance (Engine in front/tranny in rear), so a V8 would just slaughter all handling capability. Now a boosted Mazda rotary or a Nissan SR20? That'd work nicely.

(I am anxiously awaiting your rotary engine demotivational poster)

the LS-series V8 is very light by comparison, you know... the handling would not be compromised. the rotary is actually pretty heavy for its displacement.

oh and, Bandi, by request...

I so badly want another... Seriously, the good thing about 911 is their attainability. After all the exotica I've driven, there's something about the way a plain Jane '11er squirms across the pavement, and squats under throttle.

Put a 3.6 in a solid long-nose, with a twin outlet SS, a couple of light-weight red-trimmed buckets, and you've got something rarely beaten. Certainly not at the same cost. Neko.

from everything i've read, though, a 911 variant DEMANDS attention. I have been told that it's a very unforgiving car, especially as it approaches its limits.

They were adjustable but it was common to fix them directly to the rails as it'd drop them nearly an inch and a half. I think it'd be worse if you were tall, those cars are soooo cramped inside.

Fancy script and name for the first automatic type transmissions.

yup. Manual transmission with torque converter AND a clutch. Interesting setup. A friend just picked up a 51 dodge 1 ton pickup with fluid drive still intact and working.

Tucked away far up a hill, we found this beauty. Hidden for a year, just saw on facebook that someone else found it.
