I did just notice however that the creepy hotel on Colorado Ave, The Royal Palace hotel has just closed, supposedly its infested with bugs and the like, and possibly bums... or crackheads.... but might be worth having a look at!

Google for more info, but unfortunately there isn't much, I plan to do a scan of the place possibly today to see what it looks like. But it could be an easier option.... at least for now.

Wow that place sounded awful. The google reviews were straight nightmarish... The street view makes it seem like a less than ideal explore. You would have to go door to door completely exposed to the street. I don't know if I want to play guess what's behind door number ____, 50 times in that place. Yikes.

Yea, thats kinda my thought too.... but I did see some entry points ( see other thread I just started) I'd just love to see whats in there! I think at night with a proper plan you could get in pretty easily on the 1st floor.... I can't be sure as i've never been in but it looked to me to be rather easy. Could be lots of grotesque treasures in there! ;)

Be aware that there are plenty of cameras on and around the newer portions of the structure and some activity on the site, and the guards are watchful. I spent a few hours taking photos of the entire campus one weekend and the watchman on duty eventually confronted me and mentioned that he'd been keeping an eye on me the entire time before telling me to stay away from the service areas (which are still active, staffed and maintained it seems)

careful, i got stopped and searched there a few years ago with big dave and orogeny. outside the fence, even! DPD is very active in that area - district 6 HQ is only a few blocks away and they do keep an eye on it.

Just in case anyone had a last minute desire to go poke around, they have cleared the place, and sealed up EVERYTHING down to individual rooms. So if there is a door on it, it has epoxy, 6 screws, and possibly even a new lock in the door. Not worth the time anymore.

Reopening this thread, but I went in today. It was a section on 8th and Birch. Someone cut a fence and broke a large window, so I went in. It was a large room, and unfortunately all the doors leading to other rooms were sealed. But it was still interesting. There was not a single cop/security/construction dude in the whole vicinity though.

I had no idea they planned to demolish it, the whole place has seemed the same for the past few years. I did notice the epoxy on all of the doors, though.
