There's a building I was in recently with an elevator. The doors are all closed, but I kinda want to pry one open and see what elevator shafts look like on the inside...

haha you said shaft.

In all seriousness it's gonna look dark and ominous. There may be a ladder on the side of the wall you can crawl up. If the elevator is still running, surf it! Just not to the top floor (just in case you smack your head)

I hear one of my fav.s is getting a reno, not a demo!!!! WOOOOOOOOO! there was a working elevator in there ;)

I remember being with you in the apartment block and having you try to pry the elevator shaft open - it just was NOT happening hahahaha.
Tried for like ten minutes while I was standing there trying to freak you out; "what if there's a dead guy in there?"
I've never seen you glare at me so heartily XD.

Ha, you know how I love shafts!

Seriously though, it doesn't work, the building has no power. I've never seen the inside of an elevator shaft before, and I imagine it'd be pretty boring, but I still wanna see.

If your talking about the whoored out apt block, unless somethings changed in the last couple weeks the building still has power. And as of late winter the elevator was still functional lol

Haha, the one near Portage and Whitewold? No power when I was there about a week ago.. I tried the elevator on like every floor. To be honest, I was hoping to find a homeless guy living in it. That would be hilarious. But it didn't work.

Maybe it's just a breaker turned off? If for some reason I go back there, I'll check the breaker panel.

Winnipeg explorers, I'm leaving.... for the May Long Weekend! Yuppers, going to be in the good ol' metropolis where the toons are sasky... in other words Saskatoon (as if anybody wouldn't have got that anyway...) SO, from 11:00 on Friday to late Monday night, somebody hold down the fort for me. BUT, if you all have this like ginormous Winnipeg UE meet with like 20 people on the long weekend, I will be both happy and disappointed at the same time, if that's possible...

Alright.... one weekend to be forgotten about, no questions asked! On another note, to settle all confusion about the Polo Park Hotel... it's only getting gutted and turned into a new hotel, new name, new ownership. That is all.

Sounds like I'm spending the holiday sandbagging my dad's cottage. Ohwell, it'll be good exercise. And there's an abandoned house nearby I've been wanting to check out, so if I can still lift my arms maybe we'll stop there on the way home

My stepmom grew up in the house, and her granny owned it till she died at 98 years old a couple years ago. She hadn't been there in many years, having been living in a care home. It's now owned by my stepmom's uncle, who's never been. As far as I know, it's been totally untouched for 10+ years.
