Does Gary count as a ghost town in Indiana? The only real ghost towns I know of in Indiana are in the northern half. As for Kentucky, I think most of them are under water from the TVA projects. Might be some in the mountains in coal country though.

Thanks for the info, and I seen some pics on Flickr where people explored the abandoned locations, and it looks like a really good place to check out.

I am from lexington ky, and am currently exploring the underground here. It is very extensive seeing how there is a huge natural underground that mixes with the urban tunnels. The cave systems here are VAST. Its incredible. And it has been hidden from us. They don't want us to know how extensive the cave systems are here.

I went to college in Louisville. I wish I would have been into Urban Exploration back then, but it is probably for the best. I'm in Hopkinsville, KY now and there are very few people that are into it. There maybe more and they just don't know that there is an actual name for what they do. Haha

That was me, I recently discovered urban exploring and I have been doing it my entire life. People have thought i was nuts ever since i can remember. I just wish I would have known about UER so i wouldn't have looked like such a wing nut all these years.

Sad to say UER wont help, we still look like wing nuts to most people. Good work on the tunnels and caves, we gotta make it up KY way. PM me if you want to hit Atlanta some time.

Glad there are actually other Kentucky explorers around here. I'm from Bardstown, currently at college in Berea, so I've got good access to both Lexington and Louisville, though I like small-town exploring better. There's a great abandoned factory/warehouse here in Berea I'm taking a group to this weekend.

There is the G.E. Plant located in the Portland area of Louisville...pretty creepy looking.

Hmm, there's a GE plant in Owensboro that shut down recently as well. Not sure about security but I know it's checked on randomly.

I've been lurking here for years. Lived in Louisville my whole life. I know a few good spots. I'm more in for the adventure than the pictures but I have a few I can share once I get home. Had a nice trip to the local amusement park a few summers ago... until the razor wire got me. It was worth the stitches. More than happy to meet up with some others at some point.

Just bumping this post. I live in Louisville and would love to get out and explore some new places. Currently, I have been hitting up the rural areas of Central Kentucky and photographing abandoned farm houses, but would like to do more industrial type buildings.

If anyone is up for adding one more to a group, I would love to join. I am not sure of the ages of people on here, but I am 34, in case that matters to you.

Check out my Flickr photostream for some of my shots. I need to create a set

Nice stuff there!

The local scene here is pretty dry--even I don't get out much in this city anymore, even with a shopping list of things to explore. I'll add you to our private board.
