I know an abandoned Slaughterhouse near me was used to film a movie, wasn't a very big name movie though.

Then of course as sleeperspirit said Transformers 2 was filmed at the Bethlehem Steel Stacks. Got to watch part of the filming.

That's ya boy David Caruso in the formerly abandoned, now apartments Danvers State Hospital in the flick Session 9. Worth checking out if you like creepy atmospheric horror.

Hospital exterior for good measure.

michigan has a tax cut for movie makers, so theyve been filming here for a long time.
michigan central station was in 2 of the transformer movies, the island, crossover, 4 brothers, an episode of detroit 187, and several music videos including eminem and kid rock.

the packard was used in one of the transformer movies.

theres more in detroit, i just cant think of them now.

both buildings are being worked on and sealed, so dont worry about it

There's an abandoned stretch of turnpike they used in the movie "the road" within a few hours of Philly. Also there's a slaughterhouse quite close to me they filmed the movie "bereavement" (it's on netflix).

What are the GPS coordinates of the slaughterhouse?

"Out of the Furnace", which was out about a year ago, shot a ton of scenes inside Carrie Furnace.

Remember "The Jackal" with Bruce Willis, Richard Gere, and Sidney Poitier? That was filmed around a couple of places that were knocked down shortly after.
it was when he (Jackal) was picking up his nasty piece of ordinance.

The 1980 film, Brubaker. Staring, Robert Redford, was filmed on location at the abandoned (now demolished) Junction City Prison in Junction City, Ohio.
^That picture is from the website www.forgottenoh.com It was that site that lead me to UER more than 12 years ago, and for that, I thank you.

That's right, and the metro scene was also shot in the Montreal subway.

Wasn't Blues Brothers filmed at Joliet? Or was that Tennessee?
