Apparently The Client (1994 film) has scenes that were filmed around one of my favorite abandonments, though I haven't seen the movie.

Also this isn't a movie, but Three 6 Mafia filmed the opening to one of their music videos in front of another abandonment I used to frequent.

I came here with a couple friends last year. After a full day of exploring, we were all exhausted and wanted beer/good food. We discovered that this abandoned building had a popup beer garden going on so we cruised over. After a few beers, we decided we wanted to see the other levels (that were still abandoned). After some security distraction, 2 of us stumbled around on the dark upper floors, armed with one cell phone flashlight, until we hit the roof. Apparently, there was also a huge music festival going on right behind the building. As soon as we hit the roof, the festival shot off huge fireworks right above us.

It was one of the most majestic fucking things I've ever witnessed. After 5 minutes of fireworks, we finished our beers and made our way down the numerous levels. Clad in shorts and flip-flops, on the last wooden staircase, one of the planks decided it didn't want to be a part of the staircase anymore. Miraculously, my other leg got caught on the lower stair, and my trusty companion (Calvin Kaneda) saved my cell phone from disappearing below us. After he helped me up, we continued our descent and returned to the party.

It was one of the most fun (and nerve-wracking) nights of my life. Definitely one of the most memorable explores I've been involved with. Love you, Q!

There's a whole lot of Detroit and Michigan in It Follows.

I watched this last week. I'm not one to be creeped out by scary movies, but this one freaked me the fuck out.

Riverview Hospital has been in a ton of stuff over the years like Supernatural, Watchmen, the X-Files. Apparently, it's the most filmed site in all of Canada.

The X-Files is one of my favorite shows. I was always impressed at how they could make the Vancouver area look like just about anywhere.

One of my favorites, Session 9, was already mentioned.

The interior shots for Cider House Rules were filmed at Northhampton State Hospital, which was my first real explore many years ago.

Some of the exterior shots in Shutter Island were also filmed at an abandonment in Massachusetts.

Pelnu sanatorija (Exiled),2016

The hospital which is in this trailer/movie is an old abandoned manor in Lazdona, Latvia. It's called "Lazdonas muiža". It's a pity i didn't go to cinema when it was on the big screens
The main character is the creepy German actor who had a role also in famous movie "Downfall"(der Untergang), acting Joseph Goebbels. !
I'm really looking forward to see this movie, especially because the filming location is in Latvia.

That place looks awesome. I bet it will get trashed after the movie unfortunately.

Where did you find the movie? I am having a hard time finding it online, and would be very interested in watching it, especially because I recently went and explored the 'thunderdome' which has a very rich history.

My small town gets used for filming occasionally. Some bigger productions that shot here include stuff like Silent Hill and Mama. Smaller productions include 11/22/63, Bitten, and Between. Between for sure, and maybe Bitten as well have used a large abandoned mill that was one of my first explorations. Being renovated into condos now :/

Watched 1984 again recently which was filmed in Beckton Gas Works in East London. The location was also used in Full Metal Jacket as the Vietnamese city of Huế before the site was demolished.

Blowing the dust off this one to add one, plus I'd imagine there has been a few more entries someone may want to share since this thread died. I love seeing something on the big screen that I have been to, be it before or after it was filmed. Although before is more exciting. Was super cool to recognize the abandoned Rays Hill Tunnel on the Penna Pike when I saw "The Road". It was difficult to contain myself as recognizing it and having been there while in a theater....

The unused Lower Bay Station in Toronto was used in several movies, and in fact some New York subway maps (from New York Minute) were still on the walls at one point and were documented in galleries here on UER (Sorry - FMs only): https://www.uer.ca...ow.asp?locid=20045

It was also used most recently (2017) in S1 E04 of the Handmaid's Tale:

Lower Bay Station is easy to see legally as it is a regular participant during Doors Open Toronto...

Atomica (2017) was shot on-location at one of the Titan I missile silos in Washington state. Terrible movie, would not recommend. The location is amazing, although it's no longer accessible as up top is a legal weed grow-op.
