April DFW MEET-N-GREET PHOTO UPDATE (warning: there are quite a few)!

Wow, I really like #15, the colors and texture really make it an interesting shot. Was that Kidd Springs? Great photos all around, glad you could find the card and share!

Indeed it was. I have no experience with drains and I definitely plan on dressing more appropriately for getting my feet wet next time, lol. This is (obviously) a photo of the entrance - one with flash and one without.

This month's meetup is this Saturday! I've still got it set for noon at Potato Flats - if you don't like taters, have a sweet potato ice cream float.

My plan *was* to hit up Kidd Springs again, and maybe the Nuevo Taco entrance to the Rat Race, but the rain is supposed to start tomorrow and not let up until next week. Saturday, in particular, holds a 70% chance of rain and thunderstorms starting at 1pm, right when I figured I'd start slowly inching toward the exit so I could get my drain on. I've never heard a good story that started with "It was pouring down rain, so we figured it was a good time to hop in a drain..."

So, it'll probably be just lunch, which still ain't a bad way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

I am about 80% certain I can make it, although it looks as though Robert and I could be the only ones! lol ;)

That's why I figure the best strategy is to pick a good lunch spot, and if anyone shows up, it's a bonus.

No bonus this month. The rain made draining - or most other types of prowling around - a bit unappealing.

I don't think that potato-hate has anything to do with the turnout, but I have to admit that the call of the spud doesn't seem to resonate. So I think I'll switch the meetup default location to:

It's got big covered (and uncovered) outdoor seating, and yummy food that's not too overpriced, all things considered. The Foundry bar is also there, but it doesn't open until 4. Completely kid and dog friendly. They had a billboard on I-30 for a while that advertised its location "between an abandoned motel and a trailer park", but both have been ripped out for yet another set of (nearly-completed) trendy loft apartments.

Of course, the primary site selection is "I don't mind having lunch there by myself". So if it looks like there's a critical mass that wants to get together somewhere else, speak up! There's bubblings on FB that Fort Worth should get some love again, and I never mind taking a Saturday ride on the TRE.

Looks pretty interesting, Ill be sure come this next month, should be exciting!

Looks like i was the only one who showed up unless I didn't notice anyone else,But I do have to say the chicken scratch has really awesome chicken tenders!

In that case, I'd call it a rousing success!

FORT WORTH should definitely get some love. The building in the stockyards is always pretty and WAY too accessible, I don't think the local law enforcement really gives a shit. I've been wanting to get into the WPRR building on the southwest side of downtown, but my friends and I don't want to go alone because creeeeeepy homeless people. someone PM me

Hey!

I noticed that there is a dee-eff-dub meetup scheduled for 2015-12-12 and was curious as to whether anyone planned on showing up, and furthermore, what the plan for the meetup was.

I'm in the area for a few weeks and I'm down to check out some stuff. I've explored alot of places in St. Louis and the Bay area, there's not much to see in my current city.

Alright any plans for this next meetup? need to make a excuse to take off from work. Still many locations to see, never ending.
What y'all think?

Next meet up is Saturday January 9th at Chicken Scratch in Dallas, 12 noon.
Dee and I are both maybes, I really hope to make it.
