| | | Here of some interesting shots of the soon to be sold and demo'ed "Concrete City." The pictures are from fall of 2007, and the sale of the property is said to go through in late January of 2009 to a low-income housing developer... It is now public property and has a few 4-wheeling trails. Make sure to stop by while you still can!!! PM me for directions!!
The Durango '95 purred away a real horrowshow - a nice, warm vibraty feeling all through your guttiwuts. And soon it was trees and dark, my brothers, with real country dark. |

| | | Is it really being demo'd? I knew it was up for sale. Damn, the one magazine just did a short write up on it earlier this summer. Look close in the corner, and you might just see someone you recognize...

| | | Unfortunately there are plenty of historic places that are being demo'd. Just being historic isn't enough to save things . . they'll still have the marker. It's not like it's a tourist attraction or anything profitable. Great, we need more "low income housing".

at the rate that dumb motherfuckers are breeding, we need it more than we need a a group of boring, empty, and fucked up abandoned concrete shells (dont waste your time with concrete city, there are way cooler locations in the same area) [last edit 10/25/2008 5:35 PM by willskith - edited 2 times]

| | | Boring or not (depending on how you see it) this place is still a very important historical landmark. It should not be torn down.

The people that lived here were close to work and took the practical route over luxury. They were real men who helped run the world's largest producing coal company of the time which helped to heat our homes. These dwellings were put to good use after abandoned by law enforcement and rescue teams for training which helps put the community in safe hands when they have a place like this to train at. The location doesn't need your respect because it's not a pretty as your denim collection. It's unfortunate that you feel you are of higher intelligence than some of the people in this world. Because some are in need of low income housing, doesn't make them dumb. I would rather see a place built for people to get on their feet rather than retail and commercial construction if that were the choice.

If this location was actually trying to be restored or saved I have no problem with preserving the buildings! In all actuality, it is nothing but a nuisance. I grew up in the area & no effort was put forward to save the property. As long as I can remember they were planning on tearing the buildings down. It would be great if it could be saved but unlikely. It's mostly known for underage partying, illegal activities, paintball, graffiti, locals shooting off their guns & dumping grounds. Oh, & lets not forget the pile of deer & animal carcasses that are found in piles every year! That always stirs up a local debate over deer poaching & devil worshiping! I have a denim collection? Uh, anyways. I was just making a comment about the fact that some people are reproducing to fast. I'm not saying that everyone who needs low income housing is unintelligent, I'm just saying that we have a supply/demand issue with supply in low order, because people cant stop breeding.

In the animal world: Food and Sex come first. No wonder there's an "obesity epidemic" Penn Gillette: "we're just programed to eat and fuck everything in sight" The intelligent people on welfare pop out another kid every five years... just to keep draining the system. They've got it down to a science. I'd like to see a "two kid maximum and then your tubes get tied" rule for welfare. I mean there would be ways to still abuse it. I'd say if they want welfare they have to serve 2-3 years in the national guard as well. If illegal immigrants want to work; I'd say let them. Kick the people on welfare who refuse to work out. Hell we should let illegal immigrants serve in the military and after 10 years of faithful service... make them US citizens. We spend a billion a month on the War in Iraq and because a bunch of people take out loans and then declare bankruptcy; THAT'S why the economy is in the shitter? America is -731,200 (Million USD) in debt http://en.wikipedi...nt_account_balance Gas in Venezula is 0.12 a Gallon http://money.cnn.c.../nation.html#table
