| | | Just picked up a Petzel Tikka XP from Backwoods for $45. wanted to get the Myo XP but like hell I'm paying $60+ for a head lamp! Just wondering if anyone out there uses the Myo XP and can tell me if it really is worth the price.

| | | I'd use a maglite 4D flashlight. Its bright enough, reliable, it can be focused, and you can use it to brain attackers. It's all around useful.

| | | The Myo XP is a bit more powerful and it uses AA batteries that lasts longer. But it's also heavier and less comfortable than the Tikka XP. If you've got a Tikka XP, keep it! Both are excellent lamps, but I prefer the Tikka XP since it's lighter and more multipurpose. If you look for light power, consider purchasing another headlamp -- or use a Mag plus your Tikka.

| | | There's no "best" flashlight. First: do you consider light power or weight or light duration as primary requirement? Then, once your selection made, choose the best design you prefer! You won't care if you flashlight is less solid/powerful/high-tech/etc. if you love its design! [last edit 5/22/2007 5:35 PM by Cavannus - edited 1 times]

| | | I've never had a problem with the Tikka. The Myo might give you a bit more viewing distance, but *makes jacking motion*. Personally, I'd rather have something that's comfortable to wear.

| | | I bought this one for $15 only to realize that while it is *very bright* its good for about 4-5 hours. That said its a xenon bulb, but I'm very annoyed it wont work with rechargeables. http://www.blackdi...gear/vectra_iq.php

| | | I have a Myo 5 and a Tactikka. The Tikka gets more use and is part of my daily carry, but I like having the Myo for long hikes at night. When I KNOW I'll need a headlamp, I go for the Myo.

| | | Well put. I also carry my Taktikka daily. Actually, it's a Tikka with aftermarket lenses, but same thing really.
It seemed like a good idea at the time... |

| | | Looks to be the same as the Myo 2/3/4/5, but with only 2 AA batteries and the top strap is removable. I have a Myo 5 for sale. It's in used but as new condition. $30 bucks shipped, payment by Paypal only.

NiMH I also picked up these turtle led's from MEC (same ideas as the UER lights, although I don't own one) and noticed that you can buy accessories for them. SO i can use the light on my helmet, on my bike and also as a head lamp, all for $5 and its a tiny package.

| | | I picked up the Myo XP from EMS yesterday. It's great and eliminates the issue of the battery pack causing slippage down the back of the head.
