| | | Posted by Mark The barracks, I think was a hospital at some time, or so I have been told. I personally haven't been to holly hill yet.... I think.
|
thats true..i actually asked some guy outside of the building what it was used for and he said it was an officer barracks..i just took his word...could of been a hospital type thing though...huge building..4 stories including the basement..the top floor has some water damage in the floors so watch out...its all locked up but if u really wanted to get in i bet you could...

| | | Are you talking about the big, sprawling white building with a courtyard in the middle of it? That was the bases hospital until the new one on Rivers Ave. was built, after which it served as the bases headquarters until the base closed around 95, I think.. Rumor has it that the hospital on Rivers Ave. might be closing in the next few years, too. [last edit 5/15/2007 2:54 AM by Roland - edited 1 times]

He's talking about a building that is across the police training ground from the hospital. You can see it from the road in, there is an abandoned car, like a Corolla, in front. There's not much on the inside, but there is an old kitchen, but I don't think it was a barracks either, looks like more offices. There was an article in the local paper a month or two agao that said the Rivers Ave. Hospital would be closing in 2009, but I'm moving in two weeks so I won't be around for that one.

| | | Ohh the one next to the hospital, has the iron grateing on the first floor? We climbed up to the second floor to get in, but didn't check out the whole place due to lots of cops moving around. That was the night we had to run through the back of peoples houses because the cops were patrolling around the area.

| | | I have the bad luck of getting the Police to be nervous, I think its my shifty eyes, and menacing smile. I think there was a report of us because we came in, and my idiot friend was being very loud behind some houses. Needless to say that was one of his last trips with us.

| | | I use to go into the power house by myself. That place is easy, and safe just bring a little light with you. Everything else is pretty safe as well. I will be down for military training next month. I will contact you then.

| | | http://maps.google...9978&t=h&z=17&om=1 The big 8 winged building with the red roof on Turnbull Ave. is the hospital. The building you guys are talking about is, if I'm not mistaken, the building right underneath the words Truxton Ave. (the smaller one to the left of the big white one). | | | yeah you are right...and the building right next(down and to right) is the one i was talking bout the glass being broken...the hospital i have driven by a few times, and have noticed that a lot of it is being used by a construction company and other things. so i am not too sure if you can get in or would even be worth it..i will have to check it out again when its not so busy over there. its a bad ass looking building on the outside though.

| | | I had gotten into the hospital several times, but it was well over a year ago. It not that interesting inside since it was most recently used as an office building after the Rivers Ave. hospital was built, but its worth checking out if you can.

| | | I missed a really great place and didn't even know it was abandoned. Moultrie Middle School in Mt. Pleasant(where the farmer's market is), is being demolished. I never even thought about the fact that I never saw anybody there. I think I found another school in Mt. P that's abandoned as well, but I haven't been up close yet.
