| | | Last weekend my friends and I hit the motherload. We found what appears to be the former home of a body makeup artist who left behind a lot of pictures of himself painting womens bodies for what looked like some kind of official event, ca 2002. I posted the pictures to a private Facebook group for Korea urban explorers, mentioning I was searching for the line to draw about posting the images publicly, but that it was becoming obvious the only answer was not to share. It kicked off quite a discussion, with some saying it is okay to share the ones where faces are cropped out or hidden behind masks (something a law student in our group disputed), and others calling it art and thus good to share. Also the fact these pictures were abandoned opens up the idea that we are free to do with the images whatever we want, and as long as we didnt break any laws getting to them, its all good. Which seems like saying once consent is given, it cant be revoked. This has stirred up all sorts of bad feelings and expat Americans talking about rape culture. My ultimate decision is that the worst that could happen is we ruin someones life, and the best that could happen is we get a few likes on social media. Probably everyone else is passed out by now as it is 4am our time, but it sure would be swell if the people of UER could fix this problem by the time we wake up in the morning/afternoon.

| | | If it seems like a bad idea, it probably is. It's also your reputation at stake. Blurred out faces are lame and it completely degrades the images, don't. I would not post them and I don't -need- to see them. I wouldn't give a rat ass if it got likes. Those are my first thoughts. They are a curiosity and shouldn't be destroyed. I'd sit on them, maybe for a very long time and then decide. No rush and -you- have something unique to enjoy Note, faces aren't the only way to ID someone...
